Yep. I reckon that is on the money.

Otherwise we hope like hell that the Lions do worse than 4th bottom next year.
He won't be a free agent in 12 months time. He will only be a limited free agent, which means that like Daisy's situation, we can match Brisbane's offer if we want to retain him. That puts us in a strong bargaining position imo.

FA window opens after 2016 season for Beamer at which time he'll be a limited FA, not a factor next season.

Thanks guys for clearing that up, do we hold the 3 aces then don't we? Sounds like the lions at the moment aren't going to move on another player with pick 4. They could get another good kid at pick 4 and then get beamsy the following year. If we feel we could get Dangerfield we would need pick 4 you would imagine

As i said in another thread, i understand him (Beams) wanting to go home for family and i completely respect it. But why then, has he only nominated Brisbane when Gold Coast is closer to where he wants to be?

But yes, Pick.4 and Mayes.

Or Pick.4 and Lewis Taylor :D

So what's the least amount of compensation you'd tolerate for Beams if Brisbane act like %$^%$?

For me it would have to be pick 4 and there second rounder.

In reality though it should be at a minimum pick 4 and Mayes as that would basically be two top 10 picks for Beams. Who knows if Hine rates Mayes but he's a South Australian like Grundy, Kennedy and Broomhead and taken in the same draft.

If we can get an exchange of second round picks as well then all the better.

Agree, at a minimum their 1st and 2nd round picks.

Pick 4 and Mayes or get out the hell out of here.

If Brisbane aren't prepared to give up that for one of the games proven elite midfielders then they've got rocks in there head.

Mayes at present is nothing more than a promising second year player, playing for a bottom 4 side who's worth is seen as greater because he was taken within the top 10 in the 2012 draft.

Beams in his second season was good enough to force his way into a team that won the flag.

Pick 4 (5) could become a boom selection in time but could also be a complete bust.

Mayes is the same.

It's a fair deal, especially for Brisbane.

Seems that club culture is playing a big part in this decision by Beams. Why Brisbane and not Gold Coast if being close to his dad is his priority he wouldn't care. But look at GC - McKenna is about to get the flick. Claye must have said that Leppitsch is a ripping coach and that it is a great environment whereas we are clearly not such a good place to be.

As for compensation the club should play hardball.

Theoretically yes but in reality you'd pick the team where your brother is.

GCS reportedly don't have the salary cap space.

With Patful and Big Sauce on the move Brisbane need to get creative and use that opportunity to sweeten the Beams Deal.

Patful wants to go to sin city. O'Rourke wants out of GWS. Get creative Lions. Pick 4 and O'Rourke would be getting closer to a deal for mine.

No that clark is no longer an option.

Pick 22 sounds like will be given to us from Melbourne for Lumumba.

So we give beams and dp 22 to brisbane for pick 4 and Redden.

We then trade pick 4 to sydney for tom mitchell and their 3rd round pick.

We then grab Higgins for nothing via free ageny.

So we loose beams and lumumba and gain mitchell, redden and higgins.

If nothing else it gives us some experienced players with good foot skills
