Thank god.
I thought you said Hine hasn't delivered any a graders. Not good at recruiting I believe. Just quietly I think he knows a little more than you.

Langdon is a beauty! I'm still baffled that we managed to obtain him at pick 65 in the 2013 draft.

I love the comparisons between him and Jimmy Clement and I reckon those comparisons are a fair assessment of the type of player that Langdon will grow to become. Reliable, composed and most importantly a developing leader in our defence.

Yes its amazing he was pick 65. Really shows that the draft order is no guarantee and that some footballers have talents that are only uncovered when they are exposed to the game at the highest level.

There were some very pleasing aspects from the Brisbane game;
1. We won!
2. Tommy Langdon - Cool and reliable. When the team was running on empty in the last quarter Langdon stood up. Shows great character for a young player
3. Toovey - Brave and can still stop the best forwards in the game. His shirtfront on the Brisbane player was a crunching blow delivered fairly and effectively.
4. Ben Sinclair - I love his run and speed. (So does the coach). Still lacks some disposal skills but is getting better every year.
5. Brody Grundy - His aggression and competitiveness was a driving force early in the game. His second efforts were fantastic. Did very well all night carrying the ruck against two highly rated Brisbane opponents. Hopefully his development will continue for the next five years to hit his best at 25 - 28 years when it appears ruckmen mature to their best.
6. Travis Cloke - Loved to see him running up the ground to release him from the shackles of having two or three defenders hanging off him. Of course this freedom up the ground takes him away of being within striking distance of goal so the likes of Jessie White, Jamie Elliot and Alex Fasolo have to stand up as targets in the forward 50 while Travis is up the ground but I feel Collingwood is a better team with a mobile Cloke running up to the wings then swapping with White to slip back into the goal square every 5 minutes. I would love to see Darcy Moore instead of White for the shared key forward roles when Darcy gets some body development up to AFL level, but that will come when Witts and Grundy can be in the team to share the rucking duties and rest up forward as well.
7. Nathan Brown - looking a reliable full back who should be at his best part of his career. Lets hope his body holds up.
Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation!

I agree with the comparison to corey enright. Langdon, like enright, offers more run than clement and hart but those two champions have langdon covered in most other aspects of the game ... for now.

I guess the big question is, just how good were Hart, Clement and Enright after 20 odd games. I cant remember but i wouldnt have thought they were much better than Langdons start to his career.
