And that’s what missing, been saying it for years I was hoping Adams or greenwood were it, we need at least 1 hitman!shawthing wrote:We are not a ruthless team.RudeBoy wrote:I disagree. We have a habit of just trying to hold on by slowing our ball movement in last quarters. A last quarter fadeout cost us a flag last year. I actually can't remember a single game this year where we have gone to smash a side in the last quarter.

T P oh for a type like Darren Millane, Dennis Banks, and Craig Kelly, real ruthless tough bastards, the main reason we won the 1990 flag, we have not had a ruthless tough bugger since those gems, the Three Amigos !!

Listen to all the doom and gloom FFS.
What difference would 8 goal win vs 3 goal win mean? A lousy 1%?
Who cares. We win the next two and we're in the top 4 - guaranteed.
We are likely to face the Cats if results fall as they should.
Take it, move on. Deep breath people. We have a lot more wins in us yet.

We can finish 5th even if we win the remaining two games.

Relieved to win the game and secure our finals spot. Though, it has to be said it was a strange game in some ways.
Mihocek was the highlight of the day. Really stepped up in the second quarter when the game was demanding it. Loved his work around the contests and found the goals on multiple occasions. Always been a fan of him from when he debuted.
I don't think moving Roughead up forward worked. It was worth experimenting, but his best work is done down back.
Enjoyed the second and third quarters, but the first and last quarter were as poor as I've seen all season. Our run and dare from last year isn't present this year, and the players seem unwilling to take any sort of risks.
No matter how the season plays out, I think the coaching staff need to re-evaluate the game plan and consider the type of football we want to play in 2020 because we've played ugly football too often for my liking this year.
Very low crowd today. Even lower than last week's match against the Gold Coast. I suppose there were various factors for it, but it surprised me to see how empty the MCG was for an all-Victorian game involving Collingwood.

Are you ever happy?shawthing wrote:Dumb team. Awful first quarter, good second and third quarters and then a pathetic last quarter. Big chance to bury a hated enemy and gain percentage and we p**fart around for the last quarter. We are not worthy of a finals spot this year. Just making up the numbers.
Spoiled a good afternoon by Sidebottom, Mihocheck and Varcoe.
The umpiring was especially putrid and now watch for the amazing conspiracy cover up between the AFL and broadcasters about that wrong video review in the first quarter. Thank God the NFL is coming back because I'm fed up with the amatuer-hour AFL, Gillon and his cronies. Get stuffed the lot of you!!

Yeah agree that Roughead forward was not great. Worth a try I guess, but we need him down back with our currently depleted defence. I think we have to go with the pure small forward line without Cox, as we don't have another credible tall to go forward (until at least Darcy Moore comes back, when maybe we could try him forward under certain circumstances).
Sidey needs to play forward as much as possible.
If Josh Daicos is out injured, would like to see Noble come in. If Roughie returns to defence (as I think he should), what's Madgen's role?

Exactly. A+ Cam for this post.Cam wrote:One reason teams don't smash other teams by 100 pts much now is sports science. They ensure blokes are running within capacity and not red-lining. Same reason you don't get blokes bowling 40 overs from one end in a test match.
