Macrae was very good today for an 18 year old young bloke against players like Shields, Mitchell, OMeara etc but his game would have been pretty average had he been a 150 game veteran with 7 pre seasons under his belt.
As a 150 Gamer you would say he had a Solid Game but as a Kid who has not even played 10 Games it was Very Promising

What eased the sting of the loss today was seeing the enthusiasm, drive and energy of the young brigade - Ginnivan, Macrae, Henry and Ruscoe (while quite a few older players looked like they were running through treacle, especially in the first half).

It will be interesting to watch Clarko mould us and make us an unsociable team as well.
Get back on top.

We need to be patient with these youngsters, something Nicksters are not very good at doing. I worry that our expectations of Nick Daicos having instant success is fraught with the danger of being unrealistic. We need to give him and the others time to develop into mature players contributing consistently. Let’s not talk times for the next flag, let’s talk times for us to establish the next team ready to compete for one. I think around 2025-27.

Trade the bloody lot of them I say! We are a disgrace. No point keeping the current list, Coach, or the Board. Let’s draw a line in the sand and advise the AFL we do not wish to continue this season and will regroup once we have our AGM and Christmas drinks. Pre season training should start a day after the GF for us . We have not earned any holidays. Useless lot. Fancy being down near the bottom of the ladder. What a bloody disgrace.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

That's exactly what a Hawk guy I know accused him of (sore winner!)

He also pointed out, which I haven't checked but have no reason to doubt, that 6 of our first 7 goals came from free kicks (Macrae the exception)

I told him that's what they get for playing 'unsociable football'

On the bright side I was pleased with Ginnevan, McCreery, Macrae and Henry, despite him missing a few marks he should have taken.

Let's hope our players don't lose focus or fall in a heap for these last 2 games.
There's a bye next weekend - so, we can't lose.
