I wonder how much of this thread is about protecting the player versus not wanting to face Carlton with Cripps in the last round.

Interesting change to the thread title given the suspension is being challenged.

Cripps is not a dirty player, aggressive yes, but not dirty.
However, 2 weeks for deciding to jump into someone resulting in the player being subded is a joke.
Should have got 3 plus.

Will either get off entirely or have suspension downgraded to 1 week so he can play against us. I would love if it increases to 3 games and even if the scum make the finals, he won't be able to play

My eyes are purely fixated on the ball," Cripps says.
"I'm trying to turn and protect the drop zone of the ball, I've got my arms outstretched. The ball is there to be won."
Outstretched arms? Going for the ball?.... he hasn't seen the replay obviously.

AFL counsel Nicholas Pane is arguing that Cripps chose to bump Ah Chee.
Says his primary intention was not to contest the ball, but "immediately prior to contact, his intention was to forcefully bump Ah Chee".
"Was Cripps contesting the ball and in doing so were his actions reasonable?"
