Sounds like someone passed on your previous post to your mum.
Only speculation of course.
I think that Tess's post is more in line with the "Spy" talk, and not about poor Mum being so lost away from her home that she needed the comfort of her familiar setting.
So Tess's Mum is a spy too.
Where will this all end?

Shhhhh...........don't tell the Americans. We don't need another David Hicks!

I can't keep up.
Tess and her Mum work for the US to spy on David Hicks.
Have I got it right now?

Not a chance in hell did I expect them to make it easy, Dale, but Geeezus. They've taken beaurocracy from an artform and made a friggin religion from it.

I had the misfortune to have to go in myself months ago.(thought I'd try my chances of being a dole bludger for a while  ) Had an appointment, got there 15 minutes early, waited in the queue for 90 minutes, missed my appointmnet time by over an hour and when I raised the question when I finally got to the counter, was told " oh, don't worry, the appointment times are only a guide"

Frig me sideways with a cactus, a guide to what?

Instead of all the brochures they have on services, they should just have 1 single pamphlet for customers to read- "How to converse with a moron in 10 easy steps" :x
ah yes, the good old public servant who forgets s/he is there to SERVE the PUBLIC. i've had some wonderful experiences with the public service and employment agencies since my return to oz. i look forward to handing in my activity book next fortnight and seeing what questions i'm asked about my efforts to find work.

does having a christmas break hold any water as to why the last couple of weeks' entries are a little empty? ;)

Omar, I don't know what these girls are like or anything, but take it from me:

I honestly didn't think I'd 'connect' with Tildy at first, so to speak... but we most certainly have and I haven't regretted a minute of it.

Is there no chance at all they could be right for you?

Depends what you mean by right for me. Could i have a great time with them, sure. Could we have decent conversations, yes. Could we have great sex, definitely. But...

Would I learn more about the world through our conversations, probably not. Would they challenge me to be more consequent - to live my ideals, probably not. Would they inspire growth - intellectually, politically, emotionally, probably not. All this is based not on hasty judgements but on being friends with them for a while.

I've already had a great relationship where the first things were achieved, and I found it wasn't enough... I'm looking for at least some of the second list of things now. Know what I mean?
