Cloke kicked 3 goals on Taylor before Lonergan shut him down.

Hmm... interesting find Anne. I hope this doesn't mean he'll be trying to persuade Trav to join the Scum in a way which isn't obvious. :?
No, more likely he will use the threat of Carlton as a good way to pressure teams into accepting terms that are good for his client. what's that you say? Carlton might also be offering travis a $5 million deal. where could that rumor have come from.

I'm hoping the press conference today for the Geelong game, Buckley just casually slips in the Clokey has re-signed for a lazy five years (4 flags)!!

And then Cloke goes out and jags 7 goals 5 behinds and 3 out of bounds on the full tomorrow. Go Pies- rip them a new one!!!!

I hope Cloke stays as long as his contract is not damaging to Collingwood. My fear is that a 5 yr contract worth more than $700-750,000 pa might be good short term but in the long term will severely damage our club. Carlton made the same mistake with Kouta in the late 90s giving him a 5 year multi-million dollar deal. It contributed to the blues steady decline. I don't want this to happen to us. So Trav, get yourself a good deal by all means mate, but do not push the club to the limit, or else you will end up hurting yourself and the club. We are on the cusp of an era of on-field dominance and Premiership glory. FFS, don't stuff it up in pursuit of your own selfish short term financial returns.

Listening to 3AW now, BT just said that "word coming from the Cloke camp" is that the two parties are further apart than ever.

I heard the next meeting was either yesterday OR early next week. Eddie wants it done b4 he goes to the Olympics, and they probably want to announce it on The Club. I don't think Cloke is going anywhere and all the so called "experts" in the media think he is staying at Collingwood.

Geez, really? Maybe there was a meeting yesterday and it all went horribly wrong! After the meeting last Monday night all reports said everything seemed all done bar the signature.

But at what cost? Caving in to his excessive demands has the potential to destabilise our club over the next few years, stuffing up our Premiership window.

I don't believe Collingwood are stupid enough to cave into any excessive demands, if they were the deal would be done by now. I trust they know what they are doing and won't do anything to destabilise the club.

So the parties were getting close to an agreement on Monday night, and then by Friday they were further apart than ever?It sounds like the Cloke camp are playing games again with the media.

Or the media are playing games.
Would any sports journalist make stuff up?
