Big Daddy Cloke must be feeling a tad nervous now, might be time to phone eddie big boy, and reconvene a meeting, and just take what is on offer, ya big galah, and be thankful for it. Repeat, Trav is NO BUDDY, so sign the bloody offer and piss off. !

he was ordinary tonight no doubt.
Lots of reasons probably but work rate is not one and he is working hard.
He seems to be a player who cant settle in a game with grap going on off the field.
As long as he is working hard he will turn it around - would love the contract sorted out though

Cloke can bugger off, we win without him

Enough said

We should have been destroyed tonight according to the 'we can't win a flag without Cloke' mob.

Teams win flags not individuals. Individuals are as useless as tits on a bull

How about these heroes?

C JUDD. Wins Brownlow, leads club out of the eight

L FRANKLIN. Kicks bags, can't kick his side past a prelim

Does the game have any other super star individuals? Only this bloke I guess

Image

Face reality. Teams win flags. Individuals don't. If Cloke sods off, we'll be right.

Feel free to nominate more useless flag-not-winning individuals. Cyril Rioli for example

We need him. No doubt.

I still can't understand what some are so upset about. Contract negotiations happen all the time. This one's more high profile than most, but what's the point in following every word written about it? In the end he'll either sign or not (99% sure he's staying), who cares about every little tidbit along the way?

Just relax guys.

And he was getting paid about a third of what Cloke is asking for. Seriously, I don't want him any more. Phuk off and take your old man with you. You are a corrosive influence on the culture we are building at Collingwood.

I agree with everything, except this

We need him. No doubt.

He's a useful cog, but like all replaceable parts, he is replaceable.

We need people who are prepared to play their part in the team, not superstar superheroes like Gary Abblett who chase glory instead of success. Clokey has always been a team man in the past.

Tonight tells us nothing. Premierships are won through earning home finals and then delivering in the finals series. We didn't need Cloke tonight but we would most certainly miss him week in week out.

I've no doubt he still is a team player.

It's possible the contract negotiations are affecting him to a degree. But really, I'm only keen for him to sign so that everyone else would shut up about it. It's kinda ridiculous where every game is more about whether Cloke's worth x amount of dollars than whether we won or lost.

Cloke's worth the amount of money clubs are willing to offer. That seems to be $1 million. They don't offer that sort of money as a joke guys.

+1

Nick's would get kinda boring though, win after win and no big resignings to fret over

He is still important to the way we play and we would be worse off without him but he needs to understand his worth. He is not Wayne Carey or Buddy Franklin, he is good player but not a match winner. He is worth $700k at the most, why does he think he is worth more when his stats don't say that. Look at tonight, 1 mark, 9 possessions and 1 goal in junk time. I know it was wet but still this is not superstar stuff.

You are wrong inky. Cloke is worth $1 million a year to Fremantle and Melbourne because they are shit clubs with shit players. Given the pay rates we have to pay our A grade players, Cloke is not worth anywhere near that amount. I repeat, he is not worth anywhere near that amount to us. The choice is his. He either accepts a lucrative offer of around $700-750,000 pa from Collingwood and gets to play in a great team with his mates and win Premierships, or else he rejects this offer and accepts more money at a shit club. The longer these protracted negotiations drag on, the clearer it is becoming that he is more motivated by the bigger pay deals he can get elsewhere. That's his choice. Do it now, but don't phuk us around any longer.

We win and still find things to complain about

Cloke is not Buddy but we need him
WE DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT
