Dermie was pretty cagey. He doesn't sound too confident that Smith will stay.

He said Collingwood's offer was well above their offer. He said that Smith has to decide between staying at Hawthorn and being Loyal, or going to Collingwood and looking after his future.

I reckon Smith is coming our way based on that. Not sure how though.

Derm just said we have offered him a lot more than the Hawks and he will make up his mind today where he wants to play. Simple as that.

Looks like Smith is a Pie.

Will decide by the end of the day.

Hope we haven't offered him too much. He will be valuable to our side, no doubt, but we'd still want a fair bit of room to move in our cap.

I think we are fine with the cap. Burns goes onto the Vets list, so that frees up a fair bit.

Is there a player or trade mentioned? Or is it into the PSD?

it'll be something like mcgough for smith. If joel wants to play for the pies then the Hawks will take anything. If they don't take it then smith comes to the pies in the PSD.

The pies dont have to move on mcg cos he's in contract. mcg for smith...and i'm happy.
