A terrible week for the nation continues today with the death of Peter Brock. Couldn't believe it when i read it, absoloubtely terrible news. Not only a champion driver and bloke but passionate Collingwood supporter. R.I.P Peter Brock.
The black & white jumper, worn by heroes worshipped by millions.
What a sad week. Brocky has been an all time idol of mine and I was so rapt to get to meet him a few years ago - of course we mentioned the Pies! Condolences to his family and friends.
And also sending heartfelt thoughts to his co-driver and family.
Surely the banner this week should pay respect to Brocky. And, I expect, the players will each wear a black armband to honour the passing of a great Australian and noted Collingwood supporter.
When I was growing up, the day after the grand final always heralded the Bathurst race. And the Bathurst 1000 was Brocky's race. Even in recent times, when his Bathurst-winning days were behind him, he was always referred to as 'King of the Mountain', such was his dominance of the sport in his prime.
Always understated. Always contrite. Peter Brock was the epitome of a true sporting champion.
I couldn't believe the news to be honest , like millions of us i was quite lucky to have met Brock several times and he was just a gentleman im still finding it hard to believe he has gone.
Make no mistake Brocks passing is a huge and very sad loss.
RIP.
Terrible week for Australian heroes. We have been privelidged to live in these peoples times.
What's next? Paul Hogan choking on a shrimp off the barbie.
