Don't think there's any conspiracies at work.swoop42 wrote:Seems somewhat odd that Medhurst hasn't at least been named as an emergency these past weeks.
Is there an issue with Paul we're not aware of?
Lockyer is simply slightly ahead of medders in the pecking order at present.
Would love to see medders back though.

Pretty much our best team for the year I think......The only change I would like to see come Sep is a fit and firing Medhurst in for Macaffer.....If Medhurst doesnt come up then the this team could be one we go with if we get to the big one.......apologies to Blair but someone has to miss out...

Yep, me too Joel. I think our 22 is all but bedded down for September. Medhurst for one of Macaffer or Goldsack might be the only possible change.

Why? I'd be happier if they played Blake as second ruck. He's an ordinary player, and his inclusion only increases our running advantage.swoop42 wrote:Surprised that Podsiadly hasn't been named in the 22.
Geelong at this stage have only gone with the one genuine ruckman, Hawkins and Mooney.
If that remains unchanged I'd be quite pleased.
Pods being out is good for us. This means Hawkins may need to spend more time forward. Hurt us earlier in the year by pretty much playing a free role through half back and the midfield. Also makes it easier to cover their talls.
Our changes are as expected. Our side is now at full strength.
Biggest improvements to our side from round 9: no Wood - this is massive, his game was a major negative for us. The rest is pretty much an improvement in form: Darren Jolly is a much better player now, and a number of others are also in better touch. We weren't too far away back then, and if we'd capitalised on a period of dominance in the third, may have got over the line. A more consistent, more composed performance this time around will see us go very close.
Well done boys!

The fact he is playing in the midfield every week it seems like they are trying to get his fitness back, whilst he may be dominating, they probably will wait untill his fitness is back to the level they want before coming into contention. He has had injury problems for a couple of years that he appears to have finally gotten over so they probably want to be sure and wont bring him back untill its the right time, so no point naming him as an emergencyblackandwhite4life wrote:Don't think there's any conspiracies at work.swoop42 wrote:Seems somewhat odd that Medhurst hasn't at least been named as an emergency these past weeks.

Best thing about this week is if we win we guarantee top spot, we lose and its still very gettable as the Cats rest players they may drop 1 elsewhere
