That's insensitive of you, David. There are apocalyptic cults, shock jocks, political parties, and security industry investors who make a living off gullible ignoramuses.David wrote:Any thoughts on The Age headline yesterday? Apparently crime rates are at their lowest in 17 years?

Actually there should be less. Of course the kid should be punished severely. But the idea of giving a life sentence to a 14 year old is bizarre. It implies that nothing can be done to rehabilitate the kid. That he is beyond redemption and there is no alternative but to keep him in jail for the next sixty years. That is bullsh*t!
No doubt Justice Chesterman will be the pin-up judge for the grim vindictive morons who read the Herald-Sun and its Queensland counterpart the Courier-Mail, but most of his legal peers will regard him as publicity seeking clown.

Wow, that will work: the next blindly-enraged mentally-ill 14-year-old half way through a psychotic episode bashing someone to death will no doubt pause to recall the judge's sentence and walk away.

OK, guys and gals. Here's one for you all. This fiendish fellow is shortly to be sentenced in NZ. What's his crime worth?

Don't hold back on this evil fellow. A vile, outrageous, ice-cream thrower who threatens women and children with knives - and who drinks too much. Hanging may be too good for him.

handcuff him and make him sit naked on a commercial ice cream can, inside an ice cream freezer until his testicles actually shatter from the cold.Pies4shaw wrote:OK, guys and gals. Here's one for you all. This fiendish fellow is shortly to be sentenced in NZ. What's his crime worth?

One of the better sentences ever printed in the Herald Sun, I must say.He next crawled into a Mr Whippy van and proceeded to make ice-cream cones which he threw at people on the footpath, the Hawks Bay Day reported on Thursday.
