Lynch would be a decent option, but not the preferred, mostly because of his age and the fact he's more of a forward than a ruck.
Ideally we'd want a player who can play forward and play some first ruck when needed. Otherwise we'll need another mature ruck on our list, whether Wood or someone else.

Lynch is a much better forward than Martin. Martin is a No.1 Ruckman, with the possibility of pinch hitting as a forward.
Honestly, I reckon we have a 2nd ruckman already. Lachie Keefe. The guy played in the midfield as a soccer player, which means he has plenty of mobility. He certainly still lacks strength, but he could be another midfielder if played in the ruck.

I'd be happy enough to have Lynch if his body could hold up for two years. The signs are good, because he's been durable over his career. There is the risk though that he'd not be able to give us much even for one year.
Up to the club to assess him and decide how much he can offer us.

I think when we are in the situation where Dawes is our only option and we have to play him on one leg in a prelim, then we are for sure lacking another option. Maybe getting Lynch will bring the best out of Dawes.piedys wrote:So what we are saying is that Dawes cannot fill that role, as he is a BobCat at best?!Big T wrote:We are targeting a premiership next year and need a bulldozer.
