#7 Adam Treloar
Moderator: bbmods
It's the Caddy who until today was averaging less than 20 disposals and hadn't cracked it for a 30 possession game.
Treloar on the other hand is averaging above 27 disposals and has 4 games above 30 possessions plus another 3 at 29.
Treloar is 6 months younger than Caddy whilst Adams is another 6 months younger again and already pulling in bigger numbers than Caddy.
Treloar>Adams>Caddy.
I trust our club knows what it's doing in this regard.

O'Rourke was "hyped" as a draftee, not at the time of trade. He was seen as not having delivered on the draft hype which is why the Hawks got him at a knockoff price.swoop42 wrote:Yeah but the hype surrounding Treloar is actually based on his output.jackcass wrote:Just highlighting that trading a highly hyped 21-22 year old may not provide the immediate boost you expect or ever deliver on the hype. Treloar is miles ahead of O'Rourke as a player and well ahead of Caddy.
All O'Rourke has to his name is being a former No.2 pick.
Treloar is already a better player than Caddy.
Caddy's been good but was nowhere near as good as Treloar early in his career.
Treloar's delivering now, so assessments are not based solely on potential (as with O'Rourke who did very little in his time at the Giants). I do agree that there isn't anything that stands out particularly about his play, but he wins a lot of ball, wins it in close, uses it quite well, has decent pace and a strong defensive side to his game. I see him as a quicker, tougher Beams who plays both offensively and defensively. I don't think he's our absolutely ideal midfield addition but he'd definitely be a good one, though I don't see a spot for Greenwood if it happened.
Well done boys!

Thanks mate. Sadly there's nothing to get too excited about on that list.Pies4shaw wrote:Here's the AFL's 2015 list: http://www.afl.com.au/trade/free-agency

Yeah lets stick with footy illuminaries such as Toovey and Seedsman, they'll get us to the promised land of "mediocrity"!

I love the Pies, hate Carlscum

No - what the list shows is that all the half-way decent talls get re-signed before they can be enticed away. That, I suppose, raises the question of Henderson and Kreuzer, although I'm not particularly excited about either of them. It probably also explains, at least in part, Collingwood's eagerness to get Jesse White last year and tends to indicate quite how crazy it would be to rule a line through Ben Reid's name whilst there's a prospect he will play again.Dangles wrote:Thanks mate.
