Empathy and sympathy are two different things
His old mans interview was very interesting, I think he can see genuine remorse,

^ Best sentence:
"At the hospital, proceeding through a ward, an elderly patient saw the Demon logo and became anxious that her demise had come."

Brayshaw, Gaff make AFL peace in golf game
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/bra ... 50e65.html
...
Brayshaw said he only lost about half a kilogram after suffering the broken jaw, and he held no fears about getting back into contact work.
"I've definitely moved on. The last month I haven't thought about it one bit," Brayshaw said.
"I haven't had any check-ups for a while; I haven't had any pain in my mouth or my jaw.
"I've got a meeting with my dentist in December, and we have to keep testing those [five teeth].
"They're still in there and they're in the right spot, but it's just whether the nerves hold on.
"Given that I'm pretty young, the dentist is more hopeful than he would usually be that they [the nerves] might come back."

We would have won 4 flags if he was playing for us. Imagine those scum buggers , would have crapped themselves. But could play footy as well and kicked 100s of goals. We let the Brisbane era denigrate him.

Re. Brayshaw family disagreement, I side with Grandma against Dad. Someone needs to explain to the father the meaning of loyalty. (Well, I guess his mother did, but I don't know if it sunk in.)

Sucked to be a Pies fan late on GF day, but I reckon it sucked even more to be Gaff; or NicNat to a lesser extent...

Brayshaw ready for 'the last step' in his recovery
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-02-05/b ... s-recovery
One tooth dead... Four more to go...
"It could be up to three years before he is given the all-clear."
"Brayshaw couldn't eat solids for a month after Gaff's blow and was on a liquid diet with a scoop of protein each meal."
What a shocking father (suggesting it was no big deal) he has...

Lyon disappointed by Eagle's 'Brayshaw' jibe to Gaff
https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-06-18/ ... be-to-gaff
"... Ross Lyon says it was "really disappointing" Andrew Brayshaw's name was called out by a West Coast player trying to put Andrew Gaff off a kick for goal at training on Monday night.
The Eagles posted a video on their Instagram story where a teammate twice calls Brayshaw's name as Gaff lines up and misses a shot."
That is disgraceful.

Reckon similar taunts have ever been directed at Gaff on the football field since the incident? I’d be amazed if they hadn’t (as it would indicate that even the most benign sledging has totally been eradicated from the game).

By whom? Opponents? If an opponent says that to Gaff, then Gaff is the intended target and the sledge hits the target. If teammates at training say that to Gaff, even if it's not the intention, the target that is hit is not Gaff but Brayshaw.
And Brayshaw already has to cope with (apart from his injuries) having a complete idiot for a father.

I don't see the big deal here
Brayshaw wasn't even there
