Foreign Minister Winston Peters has announced the government will charter an Air New Zealand plane, with capacity for 300 passengers, to leave China - subject to Chinese approval.

Kiwis will have to pay "a nominal fee" for their place, with the New Zealand government to cover "most of the cost" of the flight."

Do you have an opinion or do you just quote shit you like and neglect to link to it? Is there a link?

Is it worth it? Just stay in lockdown in Wuhan??
How much would a normal return flight be? $1000 might not be such a bad deal for a private flight!

But what are the conditions like on Christmas Island?!

It's reported they'll be dumped in Perth after that, so I guess it's a better deal for Perth residents than e.g. Brissy residents. NZ will offer up any spare seats on their chartered flight, so maybe they should see how much NZ will charge them.

Just for a change there's some misinformation floating around.

So, no, Bill Gates didn't invent it, it hasn't infected your noodles or iced tea and drinking bleach IS a really bad idea at any time.

Lots of bleating on social media about the Government requiring folk who are to be evacuated from Wuhan to pay a nominal amount towards the cost and then when cleared having to pay to get to their homes from Perth - isn’t this why you have travel insurance :?

Hmm. Would travel insurance cover something like this?

I reckon the fine print might catch people out. No question it's an unusual situation.
