Desperately. Would take Chris Dawes right now. Cannot win a GF without a key forward, defenses are just too smart and know how to lockdown small forwards in pressure games. Need a consistent contested performer or no soup for us. Miho tries his guts out but is undersized. Cox is inconsistent and we have no other options, not good.Magpies035 wrote:How much do we need a forward

Same old shit that we don't want to see anymore. How long without a goal?? I think the wheel was invented shortly after. What is the team trying to achieve? Nothing after the 1st qtr, nothing. Never seen a Collingwood team play the way we do. We have no KPF, it cost us the 2018 flag and 2019 PF, cannot win the ball across half forward and therefore cannot create enough opportunities. The midfield are a group of downhill skiing passengers. When the going gets tough they vanish. Forget it.

The best part of the night, especially early on.PyreneesPie wrote:Little Daics was excellent I thought. He was the link-man by hand on so many occasions. Nearly always in the right place at the right time. I reckon he has a bright future.DT wrote:
Great early form by Daicos and Brown C.
Good debut by Darcy Cameron.
A lot to like. I am optimistic about this year

What next - USA sitcom canned laughter to compliment those idiot commentators?
At least the maggots are consistant - you know if it's a close game, then we are going to get f&cked over royally. Kudos to Bitchmond's better actors.
The game itself was a tactical arm wrestle, which neither coach was willing to concede. A genuine battle of the backlines, both held up exceptionally well.
But this was the sort of hitout that was needed coming off such a long break: a bonifide reality check of what we did right, and obviously wrong, against the reigning premier.
Pendles just beautiful to watch; that time-stopping evasion he has.
Was Sidey tagged out in 2nd half? He was getting it at will in 1st half?
JDG's f&cking lairising inside 50 is getting very old with me rather quickly.
Can't be carrying non contributers like WHE; no longer in best 22.
Sorry to say it, but might have to trade him at seasons end.
4 points would have been a steal; take the two and move on to st.rapist.

Respectfully, I'm not so sure about this. Okay Lynch got them back in the game, but he didn't/couldn't win it for them. I rather like slippery small forwards who can do serious damage. When Stevo makes it back (sorry Josh Thomas, but you'll have to make way for him), just watch the defence of other teams unravel.Monco Matt wrote:Desperately. Would take Chris Dawes right now. Fox Footy is giving credit to Bucks for keeping Richmond to five goals. Our defence really was superb.

If you're going to have a draw, have it against the top side. 2 points could be the percentage we might need to make the top 4.
Umpires were shit. One centre ballup was out of the circle ... and it was playing on ... but that's just an indicator ... so was the Roughy push in the back.
As clear as the in the back to Roughy..2 monumental **** that cost us the game:
1. Lynch was never going to mark the ball, and Howes touch was nothing..never a free.
2. Goal umpire called a point, and replay was inconclusive. Rules state it goes back to umpires call. A point. Opinion is irrelevant.
Thats the 4 points to us.
A bit of luck contributed to Richmond first couple of goals ..and maybe we got lucky too. We missed goals and so did they.
But credit to both sides in the 2nd half. Not spectacular, It was really tight..
I just wish that Brown could have done a Peter Daicos off the ground shot...so we could have watched the ball SLOWLY dribble over any line after the siren.

Same old fast start then stutter and stop under Buckley’s regime. Can’t create when the game settles or is on the other team’s terms. Our backline is phenomenal. Imagine we had just one or two decent forwards. I like (liked Thomas) but FFS, he’s done SFA in over a year. Our forward line will cost us another shot at a flag AGAIN. What the hell do JT, WHE, et al do??? Where are the front and centre players??? Where are the crumbers around the ground? Where are the sublime skills to drill a pass inside 50 (unlike JT’s up an under job over Brown’s head at the end)? Christ. Chip chip, spin, twist, 2m hand ball, dinky kick along boundary, bom on wrong foot under pressure and hope it doesn’t go on the full. Not enough players who can kick 40-50m consistently, not enough goal kickers, too much reliance on the defence and the old heads in the middle. Our trump card in Grundy getting injured didn’t help. Simple matter is, if Stephenson plays, we win. You telling me he’s not going to create something (anything) in this game? Oh well, at least percentage means SFA (other than vs Richmond).

Welcome back Dyso! I always enjoy your posts, no bs, right between the eyes with a sprinkle of sarcasm and side-splitting humour on the side. JDG is fast becoming one of those teasing types, has all the ability but wants to look good first and win second. Tonight was just a waste after a great start. It was another long slow bleed out, so painful to watch..just so painful.piedys wrote:The crowd noise provided by ch.7?Achilles wrote:Well that was weird. The crowd noise made a difference I thought. Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
