Adam Treloar

^ Although I don't disagree with the general thrust of your post, it may be worth observing that Treloar has never had 33 kicks in any AFL game. In fact, he has never had more than 20 kicks in any AFL game. He has, of course, had more than 20 handballs on many, many occasions (his most is 28 but his "top 10" are all 23 or greater).
In fact, Treloar has never managed to average 14 kicks per game in any season, despite averaging more than 29 disposals per game for 4 of the last 5 years (like everyone else, his output down last year because of the reduced length of games). The idea that he could ever be a consistent "line-breaker" was always a nonsense. He is one of many largely irrelevant AFL players who get the ball a lot, do virtually nothing with it, and, in so doing, achieve nothing except to ensure that the team's good ball users don't have it in their hands.

Would you put Taylor Adams in that category?Pies4shaw wrote:^ Although I don't disagree with the general thrust of your post, it may be worth observing that Treloar has never had 33 kicks in any AFL game. I reckon we should cheer him. Or is that going too far?think positive wrote:this, and anyone near me who boos him will feel my death stare!Redlight wrote:I would usually boo players that go to another club and do it without hesitation, if your not with us, your against us, right?
This is different though. I feel like we betrayed him and I'm genuinely mortified by how he was treated. The man did not want to go.
I'll never boo him.

Wayne Carey:
"Treloar is clearly a big loss. While his disposal was, at times, a little shaky, he provided that midfield with a zip that many others - as good as they are - don’t possess. Despite dips in form, Tom Phillips and Jaidyn Stephenson were also best-22 players. At the very least, the Pies’ depth has taken a hit."

Adams performs a different function. I have said my piece about Adams on a few occasions. Let's just wait to see how he goes with some better help around him, now that we no longer wear the Treloar albatross.Cruisinwithdids wrote:Would you put Taylor Adams in that category?Pies4shaw wrote:^ Although I don't disagree with the general thrust of your post, it may be worth observing that Treloar has never had 33 kicks in any AFL game. T P, you might wanna re think that, if Treloar marks the ball, 20 mtres out, right in front, we are 4 points up, the siren goes for games end, and he kicks the winning goal. ! Still cheering then, are we ??
