Fly speaks very highly of him I see; no reason not to expect him to be a permanent fixture from here on in.

I for one welcome the new blood, a sorely needed change in what was becoming a very stale team

I like Harvey, I reckon he’s got more upside than Ginnivan. Maybe even play on the ball in future.

I must say, after being on our list for 3 yrs, I was beginning to think he might not make it. He's now played 2 great games in a row and looks like a seasoned AFL player. Apart from his skills and decision-making prowess, I am impressed by his physical presence. The kid is a powerful unit.

Just when some of us (certainly me) were beginning to question whether we had any AFL ready talent in our ressies, along comes Harrison and Sullivan. Who knows, by season's end, perhaps we'll also be celebrating the form of Demattia, Richards, Begg or Eiyre.

You are probably right, but its very difficult to assess when you havent had much of a chance to see them at the top level. Josh Carmichael played almost a third of a season in 2022, virtually unsighted since.

If we're going to be more active in trading it may well be difficult for draftees to get an early look.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Harvey Harrison is the round 11 AFL Rising Star nominee

Post by MagpiesTheGreat »

YOUNG Collingwood forward Harvey Harrison has landed a well-deserved AFL Rising Star nomination for his strong showing against Fremantle in round 11.

In addition to his equal-game high bag of goals, Harrison laid nine tackles, was involved in six scores and had 13 touches in just his ninth career game.

Taken by the Magpies with pick No.52 in the 2021 draft, Harrison made his debut in 2023 and went on to play four games last season.

^ Congrats to HH on the Rising Star nomination.

The first Collingwood player since Jack Ginnivan (on Anzac Day 2022) to receive a nomination.
