Good luck, Charlie!

McFly:
“It’s a great story, Charlie’s last couple of years have been struck down by injury, the foot just kept re-injuring and this time last year he got ruled out for the whole year.
“The things you don’t see is staring at that black line in the pool and limping around from trying to regain that belief in your body.
“He’s done a power of work, he’s physically stronger than he’s ever been.
“He’s a great system player. We’re confident that you’ll see a guy that plays Collingwood style, and he gets an opportunity and we’re really, really happy for him.”

Congratulations to Charlie Dean for making his AFL debut on Saturday night against GWS Giants at the Showground for Livestock.
It has been 834 days since he was drafted, undoubtedly there's a chapter reserved in this year's Club annuls about resilience following adversity and a picture of Chas Dean.

A moment in time that Charlie will never forget.

Think Charlie was a little bit caught of guard by the news

I don't expect a lot from Dean. He is coming from a long way back, and it's his first AFL game.
I think the player we see tonight is going to vastly different a few games down the line.

Yes Charlie one of the few highlights for the VFL pies yesterday. Was very strong at FB and saved us an even more embarrassing loss many times.
Looks a cut above some of the VFL forwards and will deserve another AFL spot soon if needed.
I'm sure he will look better too in a few weeks time when Eyre and Sofrinidis make it back.

I think Dean is going along nicely, considering he’s missed two years of footy.
Once again, with so many injuries, he was asked to do a lot against the Dogs but he’s now getting involved a lot more and backing himself in contests. He’s also a very reliable kick of the footy. He continues to be a work in progress but I’m feeling more optimistic about him now than I was when he first came into the team at the start of the year.

I thought he was very good last night. Definitely a standout in an otherwise disappointing night.

Nathan Murphy 192cm, had some rough edges early, but showed promise and honed himself into a steady reliable player.

Charlie Dean 195cm, is trending the same way. Looks far more confident second time around. . Only just about to turn 23… Look's rosy ahead.

The Good , The Bad and the Ultra Ugly ….as long as they hold their marks, kick straight and never stop trying-the Magpie Selectors need to give them consideration .
