Some of note were at visy park against Geelong and the bullants.

Amazing the medhurst was only the sweetner in the deal. Now you would not even accept a deal for Tarrant + Reid for Medhurst.

Dawes is a footballer, Reid is an Athlete being turned into a footballer. Reminds me of Kinnear. Maybe Reid will be a 10 year 50 game player.

Agree Dawes look more of a Footballer those he just missed a season with his Knee that has him behind Reid but Reid might come a good player but I don't see him coming a Star those

I have this thread bookmarked. Holy shit some of you are going to cop it with your lack of support and faith and weak as piss, unfair comments. Why do some people expect instant results?? The expectations are frickin' ridiculous. It simply doesn't work like that, as proven 90% of the time with young players, particularly bigger ones who need time to assimilate and then progress once finding their feet. Fevola took a long time to come and look at him. Then there were blokes like our own Pebbles, Gibbs from Carlton, Cameron Mooney ... it goes on.

C'mon Reidy, I'm right behind you pal. Stick it up the lot of 'em.

was reading Nicks at the time and I remember seing you there with you DTM on the back of you jacket.
I also remember a wet day against Geelong I think where Blair had about 40 touches and Steel had I think 16 in one qtr. Jpod kicked 2 great goals from outside 50 against the wind. We won and was a great day.

I've still got faith in Reid, I watched him on Saturday and i liked the way he moved in anticipation of play more than once.

Give him time.

Quite happy with my foresight here.

not one for grand statements, i think reid will be all-australian in the next few years.

He must be AA. Devastating form, he's a rock back there in defence. Would be very surprised if he and Magic aren't AA, as well as Pendles, Clokey and possibly Daisy.

Reid is a dud. Yeah he's 19, but if Freo offered Tarrant for Reid I'd swap him in a heart beat

Todays Age has Tarrant quoted to say 2010 to be his last year (I just read the headline). So you'd swap a potential 10 year player for a washed up forward, come back flanker with 1 and a bit years left in him. I'm a Tarrant fan (the CFC version), but now glad we did what we did in 2006.

pffft. Reid is almost equivilant to a first year draftee KPP. FFS, He's done more than Jack Watts in 2009.

How can so many experts be wrong about this kid. So many of the coaches at CFC think this kid will be good. So many commentators of VFL & AFL say they reckon this kid has got the stuff to make it.

I can still stand by my comments with far less embaressment than others.

You'd agree that you wouldn't swap Taz for Reid? Which was my main point. While I got stuck into Taz, my point was that Reid would be a gun and we should keep him. And certianly not trade him.

Taz is a solid FB. But nearly every time I watched him at Freo (which was rare) he got towelled up. So my opinion was based on that. I think that in the CFC side now he is somewhat protected by the dominant Midfield and teaming defense. Still a solid player though. Had he not come back to CFC as per his wish, he would have retired.

In hindsight, glad we got Taz back, having Brown go down has meant he has been our recruiting saviour. Even "glad-er" that we didn't take others advice and trade Reid for him!
