The real question is... can Fev help us win the flag?

The answer to this is the same as weather to take him or not.

On AFL site, apparently Hine was asked re trading and has basically said club keeping options open next week and looking at how any trade would fit with balance of team.

Even a dickhead like Fev must now have got the message so i don't think the bad influence or will screw up off field arguments hold much water. Providing it doesn't upset the applecart in terms of player payments I would happily part with our first round pick and a fringe player for him.

To be honest though I'd rather target someone like Shaun Hampson who would be cheaper, who also fills a hole, and we might get 8-10 years out of.

Happy for the club to have a crack at him but won't be disappointed if we miss out as his price will most likely be higher than we are willing to pay.

No secret that Ed is a big fan of the Fev.

Its the rest of the club power broker's that will need convincing.

Interestingly, MM was all about compassion and giving a block a second chance last year when he wanted Cousins but the men in suits knocked it on the head.

Wonder if Ed will get his way or be 'over-ruled' the same way Mick was on Cuzzie last year.

Basically, if Fev gave up the pi$$ entirely and was put on a contract that was very heavily loaded with get out clauses if he stuffed up then I'd be happy to look at it.

Carlton may be forced to trade him.

Pick 14 is our biggest playing card... and I dont think pick 14 will even come into a Fev deal. Could we lure a Sandilands or a Kerr by using pick 14?

How badly do Carlton want to let Fev go?? How badly do Collingwood want him?? Tune in next week. 8)

Who are you, and what have you done with my emu? :(
It's the off season, I've had time too much time to think
Don't start thinking now, you've managed all these years without it. :P

If we give Dawes and Medhust for fev, I'll %$#* Mick's *^%$ several times, and trust me he won't like it.
It won't happen but it's not as crazy as you think. I'm willing to bet anyone here that next year Fev will kick more goals than both Medders and Dawes combined, all things being equal (or thereabouts). He's got at least 3 years left in him and I'm certain we'd snag at least 1, maybe 2 flags in that time. Medhurst is never going to consistently kick bags and I'm not too confident that Dawes will provide any more than 40 goals a year, at best.

Don't know if this question has been asked before, so I apologise if it has been asked and answered, but who will fill in Fev's spot (if he comes to the pies) once he retires?

If we give up pick 14 and 'maybe' dawes...?

Play hardball with them and see how desperate they are to get rid of him. No way in a fit would I give them Pick 14 and Dawes. They can have pick 30 and Corrie or keep the dickhead.

We apparently aren't ruling him out, yet this quote says a lot about our mindset.
We've got a bit of a backlog of taller boys running around in the twos that really deserve an opportunity, so we've got to be conscious of that as well.
Did we just find 3 more talls, last time I looked we had no backlog in the reserves, all we had was Nathan Brown, Reid and Dawes, hardly a backlog, considering 2 are defenders.
