As I have said before, HUGE mistake..............Not only missing out on Cousins but missing out on him solely because he was deemed TOO OLD at 30!! Stuff me......
Yes, i'm sure we hired a private investigator to follow Cousins, a known drug addict who has been banned from playing for the last year, just to make sure he really is 30 and hasn't been secretly hiding his age.

And please don't try tell me the club should've come out and told us everything they know. Cousins is yet to be registered by the AFL. Imagine if we had come out and said something we were 90% sure was true and the AFL used that information to prevent Cousins from playing again. Why would we risk being liable to million dollars of damages just to appease a few fans who can't read between the lines?

I'm sure this has all been said before. Don't get me wrong, i would've loved to have had Cousins but the club has done its research and i'm satisfied with their decision

For all the deeply disturbed about us passing up the Cuz, imagine how bad it would have been if were to get to ps draft thinking he's all ours, only to be pipped at the post by the lions?

I hope Brisbane does get him. If the PI's report was wrong and Cousins is clean, Brisbane is not close enough to the flag for one player, no matter how brilliant, to push them over the top and by the time their young players might be ready, Cuz will be too old.

If the PI was right and Cousins hasn't resolved his problems, Voss does not have the maturity, the experience or the detatchment to handle an out of control Bennie. Malthouse or Craig would have, Lyons or Eade might have, but not Voss and certainly not this early in his career!

I tell you what, any team with Black, Cousins and Jonathon Brown is a premiership contender.

Takes more than three, Dave. Lions don't have the depth ... not yet anyway

^ I've got an inkling they might redraft Mal Michael out of retirement for the second time. That Voss is SO forward looking.

I dont think hawthorn have fantastic depth either. They have a fantastic top 11...but guys like Osborne, Young, Ellis, Ladson etc would not get a game for Geelong.

it actually proves my point in that the hawks have great depth and that's what helped win them a flag. Brisbane don't have the same depth. they can have three, four, six or eight absolute superstars, but unless their weakest link can walk into a premiership quality team, the team's not up to winning a flag

was never going to test positive...why would he try and make a comeback and subject himself to vigorous drug testing if he was high.

Wishful thinking guys, wishful thinking. The last place Cousins would want to come now is Collingwood after we hung him out to dry.

All on the word of that crumby Police Commissioner who has admitted she screwed up on taking the freebies from Qantas. What would she know about footballers anyway?
