Good move. All players (except Reid) being rested to get over little niggles. The players that come in are possible back ups in case of injury- get them a bit of game time before finals just in case. Will be good to see Medhurst back. If he fires then he will stay in the side. Who goes out.....dunno

Would still need to win one of Crows/Hawks as well to stitch it up.

Two more wins to secure top spot!

Think that ball is definitely carrying something. Some of his shanked kicks last week indicated some underlying injury and maybe the hip is the problem.

Good idea to rest him up so that he will be right in September.

Suspect Goldy must have an injury as he has not had the same long campaign as the others.

Good decision by the selection committee. As well as Brown coming in for Reid, it looks as if our 23rd-25th best players are coming in for a run to see if they're good enough to play finals. Expect Lockyer, Blair and Medhurst to play like their lives depend on it.

Agree. And note three are running players given the tough game last week.

F: Dayne Beams, Leigh Brown, Steele Sidebottom

Out: Ben Reid (quad), Leon Davis (quad), Luke Ball (hip), Tyson Goldsack (ankle)

Interesting to also note the Fraser is listed as an emergency.
Geez, are we getting a little too cute?

Nathan Brown as a straight swap for Reid is okay, but Davis, Ball and Goldsack all "injured"? :?

Blair deserves to come back, but I think Tarks is gone and a backward step playing him now. Probably the same for Medhurst unless he can turn in a blinder.

And we can be certain now that Josh Fraser is finished at Collingwood on 199 games.

^Just a hunch but i reckon Fraser will play next week in our final home game of the year.

Goldsack must be injured as resting him wouldn't be a priority ahead of others like Harry who've played much more senior footy this season.

Like you don't really see a place for Lockyer in our "best" 22 come finals unless at the expense of Davis which would be highly unlikely.

Medhurst is a chance come finals if he can find his best form.

I'd feel embarrassed about slagging off at a Collingwood player who has played 199 games of football more than myself.

^ same.

[align=center]CARNA MAGPIES!

We dropped a game to these spuds back in 2006 and it cost us a top four spot. Lets make sure we take the penultimate step in securing our first minor premiership since 1977 by given the Bummers a good hammering.

Pretty good when you are losing Ball and Davis, yet bringing back Medhurst and Blair.

Then you lose Reid and Goldsack, and you have Nathan Brown and Lockyer.

Team is still very strong. Medhurst has big shoes to fill in terms of defensive pressure...but he should add a bit more scoring ability.

Blair is a good replacement for Ball.

Bit worried about having both Brown and Presti down back. 2 full backs. But without Goldsack, we have an extra running player down back which is handy. I think Goldy is in our 22 but.

Essendon's outs are huge.

slagging him off? Its actually a genuine question.

In any case, looks like it'll be next week. Whatever. Just get it over and done with.
