We're still very shaky up forward and playing no where near the way we were this time last year.
We're obviously not playing as well as we can. We didn't against Adelaide or the Gold Coast, either - but if we get the four points, that's all we need to do. Don't forget we have an extensive injury list at the moment.

I seem to remember a certain Adelaide game around this time last year also where we looked beyond ordinary. Didn't seem to bother us finals time.

Agree David, injuries have been horrendous this year. We've also seemed to be more flirtatious with our form this year, thinking, hoping we can just switch it on.

I would like to see us start to play real tough footy from now on.

The injury list is really telling today IMO. One good thing, that Fasolo is going to be one hell of a football player.
I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords

Hi all - I'm back from the 'G, now. That wasn't fun.

When was the last time they had 8 goals kicked against them in the first quarter?

When was the last time I left a match before quarter time? (I do know the answer to that one - it was the 1980 GF.)

Mick obviously gave the boys the first half off this week.

Half a game of football to erase a 12 point deficit. I reckon we're up to it.

Time to change things up after 1/2 time.

Plant Cloke in the goal square, and get Keeffe off the ground. He's having a shocker today.

Get Taz up forward. The backline surely can't do any worse thta what they currently are.

Good to have Beams back and Fasolo looks brilliant.

Reid is a bit of a barometer of the backline. He's been unsighted today and we've leaked 11 goals in 60 minutes.

Our forward line is non functioning when Trav doesn't play a blinder and...he's not. Dawes can't come back soon enough. Keeffe just isn't up to it as a forward yet.

The other bad habit today is that we've let Essendon get too many scoring shots in red time. They kicked 3 red time goals in the 1st and had several shots on goal in the 2nd

We've been excellent at running out every qtr this year, but today we seem to be lifting off late.

Can't use injuries as an excuse - Essendon have them just as bad if not worse.

Injuries can't be used an excuse when we let through 8 goals in a quarter of footy. That's just effort and players not being ready for the fight - thinking someone else will do it.

Yes we had a poor patch at the end of last year but that was pretty much after the top spot had been sewn up. I was much more confident going in to the finals last year than I am right now.

We're not playing good footy while other teams apply pressure and press up much better than we do. Even if we go on to win this one I'm not happy about our form at all.
