Amen!

Too many sooky-la-la's who think they're owed something on this board sometimes. Makes me sick.
Right on Mrs D !!

Too easy to know who the glass half full supporters are, the rest can *^%$ off

Great to see the usual crowd of doomsayers out in force tonight. Haven't had much to sook about this season so tonights loss must be like rubbing one out after 4 months abstinence. :P careful where you aim that thing Jack, the next load might hit the cat across the room.

Tonight we weren't switched on and had nothing to play for. Geelong did and it showed. Coincidentally when they beat us last time it was what, round 3? We were still a long way off hitting form and they were desperate to prove a point.

I'll stick with what Shae posted on Facebook.
This game just saved our season! All good people!
I 100% agree with the big Dyman. If ever there was a loss we had to have, it was that one tonight. Geelong just won the battle, the war is up for grabs and we just got focused like we haven't been all season.

Thank you Geelong, you just gave us the 2011 Premiership cup.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

And you've been watching for how many years ?
I know, you're one of those pessimists counting their blessings......five.......four....three....two....

HTFU
Enough to see us lose 10 grand finals and draw one we would have won if Carmen hadn't been suspended. I hate our pathetic finals record over the past 50+ years. I hate it with a passion! Some of you young Collingwood supporters cry because you only saw us lose in 2002 and 2003. Luxury! But I'll hate it even more if the Cats win their third flag in five years, or Hawthorn their 11th (count them) since 1961.

I never thought I'd see the day when Collingwood fans would tolerate a 96 point loss on the eve of the finals.

I hope you've got a lot of faith, because you're going to need it next time we front up to Geelong. They really have the belief they can beat us every time now. And our players will have nagging doubts. Did you see how many times we turned the ball over tonight (because the players heard footsteps)? Why do you think that will improve all of a sudden - unless you've found religion.

I'm with you Hiss. We left about the same time. I feel for you down Corio way and especially poor Witty having to put up with crap for the next week or so in Geelong.

I don't understand modern football if you can simply turn form on and off like a light bulb.

I suppose if we're not going to win the flag this year, then it is a great blessing. Frankly I'd much rather limp out in straight sets than lose another grand final. This time (for the first time) to Geelong or Hawthorn. God preserve us! The bad days are here again.
You've been dying to write this sort of crap for 22 weeks. The build up of pressure must have been almost unbearable, like being constipated.

SPOT on AGAIN !!!

Why wouldn't they come out all guns blazing ? It's not like they don't have any pride.

Not gonna help them one iota for the rest of 2011 though

Yes, it's a bad sign to lose by that much. But we didn't take this game seriously mentally, tactically, or physically. Nobody chased, because they probably wanted to save their legs. Stupid positioning occurred, because we didn't want to show our cards. We let them waltz by us, because intensity is the key to the press, and intensity is draining.

Did we intend to get smashed? No. Do the coaching panel look at all worried? No. Will a 500% increase in intensity, the addition of Thomas, Shaw, Davis and Maxwell, and finals-like "serious" coaching bridge the gap from tonight? You betcha.

The only concern I have from tonight is the incessant long-bombs direct to Cats in our forward line. That's part and parcel of self-preservation and not wanting to work hard on the eve of what will be a taxing finals series.
dead right,

im only pissed thet didnt tell us it was a practice match - at least the hawks are honest, would have stayed home where its warm!!

Therevare a lot of delussional people responding tonight. They screwed us BIG TIME tonight. I'll repeat what I wrote earlier. No team on top of the ladder losses by 96, yes ninety-six points, to the second placed team in the last game of the season. I don't care how much they didn't care about putting their body on the line. It was embarrasing, to say the least. Great teams don't get flogged by almost 100 points. Jolly pathetic. Our forward line non-existent.

So why should fans fork out the money to go and see this rot? Why should people who are stupid enough to bet on football bother?

I'm serious. These results simply undermine the integrity of the game. Perhaps we should start docking sides 4 match points for every 50 points they lose by, i.e. we'd have been docked 8 match points tonight and Geelong would win 4 to finish on top - a 12 point turnaround.

Something has to be done to force clubs to play games on their merit.

I'm serious!
I cant answer that question for you, because I truly dont know why people would fork out their money tonight and expect the Collingwood we were so used to, there was no reason for that Collingwood to show up

Yes we have the truly passionate and I applaud them, but dont expect the side has to turn up every week and give it their all like you do because its a bloody marathon and I am happy if we lose the odd game but win the big one

I couldnt make it tonight, but at the same time I had no intention of going anyway because I had no expectations of a win tonight and I just cannot sit there at the ground knowing I dont care if we win or lose and neither do the players, its a waste of time and money

I also question why people would bet on dead rubbers then complain if it goes against them, I suppose the biggest whingeing and perhaps rightfully so would come from those in tipping competitions, Geelongs recent efforts possibly indicarted they were more likely to come to play tonight but in the end you just never know, Geelong could have had the same attitude as us and this game will decide a lot of competitions

Rant over

As for your suggestion, thats fine but we lost by less than 100 points so we would only lose 4 points and keep top spot by 10%

Absolute umitigated rubbish. You ****wits just can't handle the truth that we might not actually be the best team going around this year!

Just because I (and quite a few other) realist Collingwood suuporters don't accept your pollyanna view of the world, doesn't mean we don't love the Pies or hate losses like this. No wonder so many people have been driven away from Nick's when ****wit bullies come on and tell us what we should think and say about Collingwood every time.

Listen buddy, we are not the Labor Party.

I'll be the happiest person in Melbourne if we win the flag this year (like I was last year). But after tonight I'm not expecting it.

Malhouse moves in mysterious ways. He may not have told you directly, but if you look in the practise game thread from Thursday, you'll see that someone posted that it was at 7:40 at the MCG. The signs are always there, you just need to read them :D (particularly, never miss one of my posts if you want infallible insight into the game ).
