Weird weekends is different to the other shows of his. I watched it, was pretty good. But nowhere near as good as the others (on Nazis, porn, jails, drugs etc) Keep an eye out for the other series. I think it's just called Louis Theroux.

The thread has "decent" in the title.
Would have thought that excludes all "X" type shows.
12 months time you won't even remember the contestants names.
Despite my protestations to the family years ago about watching the commercial corporatization of music I've joined the the "other side". I've been following it with my family & worse taking an active interest.

I confess I love Reece. He has an amazingly sophisticated voice for a 16 yr old. How that bloody Johnny got through I'll never now - can't sing one would have thought a pre-requisite, & I was upset when they stupidly voted out three wishez last week ( I confess I watch it).

I'm with Stui on this one.

I have no doubt that this show has popularity. But the thread is about "decent" TV, and just because there are people who wish to watch "journeys", it doesn't make it decent TV in any stretch of the imagination.
I prefer TV that tells a story, to a conclusion. These shows work on a formula that requires the contestants to follow the journey and shed some tears along the way. Over and over again.
To add insult to injury, they then demand you pay some $$ to influence the outcome!
A bit to much pap for my liking.

I did start the thread with the term "Decent" TV. In the absence of being able to find any of that, I've quite liked the show.

As far as money goes, yeah if you want to influence the outcome feel free to pay. If you're like me and content to watch, no cost no issue.

Joel wrote:* Breaking Bad (on ABC 2), but download it and watch it from the start. Not bad.
* Boardwalk Empire (Foxtel). I download it.
* Game of Thrones (think it's on Foxtel). I haven't watch it yet, but apparently it is good. I have the first season, will prob start watching it tonight.
All three of those shows are exceptional.

I also watch Community and I have just started watching Sanctuary and the Sopranos (yes I know im way behind on that one)

Everyone raves about this show, and I'd put it off for so long because it doesn't look like my thing. Finally bit the bullet and started watching it last week.

Awesome!

I have also now started watching Dr Who Season 1 (2005 series)
Pretty good, they have stuck to the original formula pretty much.

I miss good Sci-fi though. I want a new (good) series of Stargate. I loved Atlantis, wish it went for more than 5 seasons. Universe was a disappointment to say the least.

Terra Nova is terrible IMO. Not enough dinosaurs and too much teen angst Home and Away style rubbish. Plus it has that guy from Avatar and I hate that movie.

The link shows a couple of the good ones - The Odd, The Bad & The Godly has a couple of the docos I've seen - Mega jails & Medicated Kids were excellent. The medicated kids is actually quite disturbing. One little kid (I think about 6 or 7) is on anti depressants and in therapy because when he plays board games & loses, he cracks it. Ummm, what kid likes losing??!! Obviously something wrong with him, better send him to therapy.

Law & Dirosrder also very good.

Hope he enjoys them.
