Sorry for paywall but private browsing fixes that:

I'll be over the moon if Scharenberg falls to us at 6.

Interestingly enough they have us taking McCarthy at 10 with Salem gone at 9 to Melbourne.
Yeah, in their view we either take McCarthy or Salem depending on what the Lions do. If they take McCarthy, the Dees will take Freeman and we'll get Salem, but if the Lions take Freeman, the Dees will get Salem and we'll take McCarthy.

If we get Scharenberg and McCarthy with our picks, it means a forward and defender inside the top 10.

Feels eerily familiar... 2006 anyone? (Remembering that Reid was recruited as a forward before going to chb)

Callum has ranked his draft in order of talent as he sees it.

He has Scharenberg at 6 with Lennon coming in at 7.

It's a beautiful thing.

Yet another mock draft, from Brett Anderson this time.

I'd be very surprised if the dogs take Bontempelli with pick 4 just as I feel we have gone cold on him at pick 6 and possibly even at 10.

It would be a win for us if they do take Bontempelli because he is very much a speculative pick and pick 4 would seem overs when you have Aish and Scharenberg still available.

If the draft worked out like this one we would be massive winners with Scharenberg and Aish.

Emma Quayle has us considering McCarthy as high as 6.

Below is from the Age article today.

DRAFT DAY: Collingwood has stripped its list in the past year or two and is well placed for a mini-rebuild. The club took three first-rounders at last year's draft and the job this time around seems simple - to pick the two best players, knowing Taylor Adams is also sitting there as a ready-to-go, 20-year-old ball winner. The Pies have fairly good coverage in defence but might look at a couple of tall rebounders or even consider a young, marking forward. If they go that way it will be Cameron McCarthy, who played some really exciting games before breaking his leg. He's a chance at pick six, though it's worth remembering that, all going well, Darcy Moore will arrive as a father-son pick this time next year as a ruck/forward prospect. There are plenty of other options at six and 10: Marcus Bontempelli's big body would complement the Pies' slightly small midfield group, Nathan Freeman has pace, Christian Salem has speed and skill, and James Aish, Jack Billings or Matt Scharenberg could fall. An Aish-Scharenberg combination is, believe it or not, a slight chance, and the dynamic Ben Lennon will be looked at too.

^^At least it seems to be an honest asseesment and gives an idea of who we might be interested in, rather than pretending special knowledge of who we will take like so many others.

I agree it is fairly speculative at this point BUT one thing is certain - we're going to get a highly touted (doesn't necessarily mean great, but highly regarded non the less) player at 6, and probably another at 10.

Trying to work out if we'll take Sharenburg / Aish / Billings / Lennon at 6 is like trying to work out which boiled lolly you like better - they're all bloody tasty!

It will depend on which of those four are left I think, and with McDonald going to north, we're a lock to get one of the rest OR KK, Bontempelli or Salem. We're going to get two very nice players to complement Kennedy, Grundy and Broomhead.

If we get (like that SEN mock draft suggests) Sharenburg and Aish I'll be having wet dreams until March!
