Cry your crocodile tears Toby-boy. You got what you deserved!
And even if it gets overturned on appeal and he does end up playing, you'd think another weeks worth of media saturation will mentally fry his preparation for the game, and they are effectively a player short on the field?
Yep, if he plays (I think he will), the weeks massive media attention and the 90,000 jeers and boos from rabid pie fans will be too overwhelming. Either way, he's cooked

He might prefer the booing to the media attention

I agree Baz - I don't understand why he does it.

I think he'll get off - I'm not sure what's different to this week from last week so I think they'll have to let him off. So essentially they'll sanction ripping a guys face off, off the play (or once the play has stopped basically), as long as you don't touch his eyes.

Good. Every time Toby Green goes near the footy, rip his nose off. Ever time he's in a pack, rip his nose off. He'll be bloodied and bruised like Bont by half time. And it's AFL sanctioned. Every Collingwood player. Every. Time.

Game over Toby.

Unfortunately, there is a precedent for repeated low life acts not resulting in a suspension. The case in mind is Sam Mitchell, who went on a kneeing spree and repeated the act several times without suspension. Given this history, I have absolutely no faith that the AFL will suspend Green for repeated eye gouging.

Umpires warned player for his knock of Cameron,s bung shoulder “I’ll pay a free” yet let other players resort to unsportsmanlike and down right unfair practice

AFL get real

Barrett on the AFL website claiming that Green will not be banned because Lachie Neale will not say that he was eye gouged " because he wasn't". Barrett then declares that Green simply must play next week, where - true to form - he will be involved in a stoush with Pendles, and will lead the Giants to their first GF. What a flog. That is not journalism. It is him writing what he hopes will happen.

^^Interesting that he thinks Neale would testify. Usual practise is that this doesn't happen, just like Bont didn't last week. Their testimony is unreliable due to the "players code".

The report is clear: unnecessary contact to the eyes. The AFL will need to show that this happened and the Giants that it didn't. Outcome will be based on the vision more than testimony you would think. There's no allegation of eye gouging or of injury to Neale.

If the AFL have clear vision of contact to the eyes - unlike last week, the MRO seems to think they do - then Greene's appeal doesn't have much chance of success. It wouldn't be the first time the MRO have made a mistake though.

It’s ironic or possibly planned that AFL Franchise enlisted Mumford to go with another known thug

The media love-in for Toby Greene is unbelievable. Does this bloke have photos? Seriously, they absolutely love him. Ballantyne got the same love, despite being a dirty prick. And yet if one of our players goes for the ball and accidentally cops an opposition to the shoulder, all hell breaks loose. Same love for Rioli, they're all crushed for him -- not so Murray, they were screaming for his head on a stick.

This is why I hope we flog the Midgets and flog whoever we play in the GF and stick it up all of them.
