The Government says that "he 29 new locally-acquired cases are all linked to previously reported cases and were not in quarantine during their infectious periods."
Bloody hell! And people on here wonder why we are in lockdown?

I wonder if it from returning tourists or even from the stupid freedom rallys.

^ Well Ken, just going by the new exposure sites, there'd need to be a lot of tourists or protesters in Tarneit.

They will tell us what they know in the presser (Victoria has been quite good at that) but it's most likely just a whole lot of transmissions occasioned by contacts from the various schools.

For anyone who is interested, the ABC has published this comparison of the restrictions in Qld, NSW and Victoria: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-06/ ... /100355508

In Queensland, there were 13 new cases. 12 of them were not infectious in the community.

Yeah, it looks like mostly in the one area, I am just frustrated I hear of people visiting their families and friends thinking that it is okay, please stay home and only go out to do essential things and by yourself don't drag the whole family with you.
I am from the country area and run my own business and we got through up to now but last month was bad and now I am not sure how we are going to cope from here.
I am not blaming any governments but we all need to work together and now have to seriously consider punishments on anyone doing the wrong thing, I am absolutely shattered at the moment I cannot see the end.
Sorry for the rant!

^ Yes, I agree.

In NSW, they've just reported 319 locally acquired cases (and 2 O/S).

The NSW Health Minister just reverted to type - he's making it everyone else's personal responsibility to stop this.

Meanwhile, he's just announced that Armidale LGA is to be locked down from 5 pm today.
Of the 319 locally acquired cases reported to 8pm last night, 112 are from South Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), 98 are from Western Sydney LHD, 57 are from Sydney LHD, 23 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, 20 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD
138 were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 32 were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Fifty-one cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 98 cases remains under investigation.
So, that's 181 "wild" cases today.

There have been 5 further deaths.

Don't apologise, you're right.

People like me can just work from home safely, still get paid, and suffer mild inconvenience really.
Small business, sole traders and people who work in retail and hospitality arecopping the brunt, as is everyone in rural and regional Victoria who get locked down because of cases in Melbourne Metro.

Stay strong, this can't go on forever
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

1,748 new cases in the last 7 days. Of those, 869 (which is virtually 50%) have been in the last 3 days. The 1,748 is almost a 40% increase over the 7 days before that. Even worse, the 3-day trend shows that the total number of cases in the last 3 days is nearly double the total number of cases in the first 3 days of the last fortnight.

i just said to my daughter dont be surprised if its double that in a few days, basically what ever number are wild, each ones gives it to 4 people, it multiplies very fast.

a week or 2 ago they were at 8,000 total cases, now they are at 10,354, only 118 off half the total victoria has had, including when we had 4 figure numbers a day.
