AFL dilemma: Rub out one of their poster boys, or uphold "thou shalt not touch an umpire".

Who wins?
He will be cleared 100%. The charge of "intentional umpire contact" makes it a certainty he'll be cleared because, (i) they cant prove contact was made and (ii) they cant prove that it was intentional.

^^^ contact was definitely made, but yes hard to prove the intentional bit, for sure.

No, Tom Browne said last night that the AFL had changed the wording to be extremely general. He's gone.

Caro reckons he deserves 6 weeks. The former umpire is quoted wanting at least 2...

Can GWS beat Geebung without Toby?? Paddy has a broken hand.

i reckon green will get a huge fine and able to play v cats i just have a feeling that the umpire could have moved out of the way and that green could not as he had a player on his other side and he just brushed past the ump.

I guess Greene's previous 22 times before the tribunal was in the back of their minds....

I'm a bit surprised he got 3 weeks, must be tough to take, all things considered.

^ I'm a bit surprised, too, given that the AFL sought 6 weeks.

Im not celebrating until after the appeal. Knowing our luck, Greene will get hos suspension dropped to 2 weeks because "it's not right for suspensions to cost players a GF spot"

Would love to see this go to court, just to see how it plays out.

Either charge him with assaulting a maggot, or he's free to play....

If Mr McLachlan has his way, it'll be "10 weeks and a pie with sauce, thanks."

I think they probably know there's no way they can make the grand final this year. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Greene had done this in a prelim.
