I have a huge amount of sympathy for Murphy.
He was a talented, brave player who put his body on the line for his team and teammates.
I hope that his retirement from football is the start of his recovery journey.
Contact sports have always taken a heavy toll.
We all know guys with shot knees, hips, shoulders etc.
40 year old men who struggle to get out of bed in the morning or lift their kids up.
Concussion is just the latest confirmation that seeking sporting glory can come at great cost.

Brilliant player, his loss this season , at his peak,has really affected our season, Moore lost his partner in crime down back, huge loss, tragic for him too. I wish him all the best, he played in a Premiership team, he will always be a Magpie.

Man hearing Murph talk about still suffering symptoms almost a year on and how despondent he looked broke my heart. Hoping there are no long term issues for him, and so glad he retired early instead of risking worse damage.
