Congrats T J. Personally, I think this young man is the best of our developing youngsters. I have no expectations, that’s not fair on an 18 year old but this kid has all all the tools for a modern day attacking H B F. As long as he keeps focussing on his footy, he will will be a regular senior player sooner than later in the black and white. Just enjoy the moment, T J.

Should be a comfortable win, provided the boys don't check out too early with the bye in mind. They've given us a decent run the last couple of times around so hoping complacency doesn't come into play here. Oh, and stop Larkey! Knee to the ribs?

Congrats TJ 6 debutants this year
But according to some posters we had no depth
Guess our recruiting staff know better than we do

The VFL watchers all seem to have mention TJ so congrats to that

Nicksters can obviously comment about opinions around our depth but as with everything else, the club always knows best. It’s brilliant that in the year after a flag, we can continue to develop players for future senior positions.

I'm glad to see McInnes get back in. Although I'm yet to be fully convinced of his worth, he is clearly a great athlete with lots of potential. I hope he does well.

We saw some nice glimpses late last week against Casey of Reef playing in the middle. Looked like an exciting future to me if we can start running him through the middle too.

Angry little Ant Clarko will have this povvo rabble fired up, for this one, bet on that, with our full side, wed decimate them, but with this injury hampered team, I expect win of around 20 points. Go Woods. !

Good morning Mr Black and White Lion.

I believe that you are correct.

Reef is a tall midfielder who has been played forward due to a 'traffic jam' of midfielders. With retirements pending at season's end, he will be increasing used in there.

There is an opportunity today to run him through there: Krueger and Frampton are the tall targets with Hoskin-Elliott a high-marking mid-sized option.

His pace is elite- this holds great currency in the modern game.

Go Reef!!

Well last time Larkey kicked 5 goals against us.
Don't let it happen again.
Both wrong.

Larkey kicked 5 goals against us on BOTH previous games in 2022 and 2023.
IIRC, half of his 2022 goals were umpire charity for bullshit holding frees.

Well, there's this bloke called Davies-Uniacke; he didn't play against us in 2023, we got off lucky.

In 2022, he ran rampant against us at MCG: 33 gets including 12 clearances. He made our mids look inept in the centre.
Simpkin also had 31 gets and 12 clearances. Jed Anderson, also 33 and 6 clearances. They won overall clearances 40/33; Stats above in url.

in 2023, Greenwood had 25 and 10 clearances; Will Phillips 29 gets and 5 clearances. Baffling how neither of them are in their best 22 going into this week. Bailey Scott amassed 30 gets.
They [again] won overall clearances 35/33; Stats above in url.

Something very wrong with this pattern emerging ...

We are without a number of mids, and a large percentage of players who goaled against the Pauperoos in these previous two games.
It will again take a collective buy-in to again get us a win here.
A percentage booster would be nice, but I wouldn't go betting the farm on it.

Let's keep the hubrice to a minimum, and beware and respectful of LDU.

^ very well said, few too many fans pulling the 'ego before the cart' celebrate IF we win, not in the pre-game thread....and never write off your opponent.

North has talent to burn with the number of high draft guns they have and at some point they are going to click...beware.

I will be happy with no injuries and a smallish win.

Quoted for truth brother; we've been burnt too many times to be falling for that.
We effectively have a team full of kids at present, as do the Paupers of course.

Simpkin, Sheezel and Wardlaw are maniacs, and generate much of their intensity at the pill. Proceed with caution...

We should be winning, but I agree that attention needs to be paid to Larkey (who's kicked 5 goals in the past two clashes against us) and LDU who was very impactful in North's first win of the season against the Eagles.

Congrats to Bruz on 200 games, and to Tew Jiath who will be making his debut today. The 6th debutant of the season after Dean, Sullivan, Richards, Allan and Parker.

Ed Allen hasn't lined up in the VFL this morning at the AIA centre. Could be a late late change for the AFL team. Naicos watch or someone else?

Regardless of the GWS-Port result, we'll be in the top 4 at the end of the round if we win today with some other sides having games in hand.

Massive opportunity to keep the pressure up and assert our credentials with the bye approaching and hopefully getting some experienced talent back after the bye.
