Clearly the Prez wants him....he's been mentoring him right through this episode. MM and Walshy I'm not so sure.
There is another factor here too - the Pratt family connection. Waislitz would be feeling the pressure from his mother in law and his missus to vote against it - apparently the Pratt's arent happy with him (who cares really)
I would not be offering anything of value for him. If Carlton are desperate to offload him and our club decides in its wisdom to take him - we have to CLEARLY get the best end of the deal

Imagine his stupidity if we actually won a flag.. then again who would care?
The main problem with Collingwood is that after all is said and done, there is FAR more said than done...
Time for the club to DO something!! Take a bloody risk if you have to. Life is FULL of taking risks for normal people not rapt in cotton wool inside a cocoon.......
Otherwise it will be MORE than the 32 years we waited to win our last flag........
I agree with you Lazza , we must have a serious crack .. but within reason!

If Fevola wears black & white, it's opposition supporters worst nightmare. We finally have the firepower to go all the way. They will be in fear of the black and white.Simone wrote:Absolutely, no fear of Collingwood at all. A friend said to me last week who is a Saints Fan 'I wish we were playing Collingwood in the GF instead of Geelong' Says it all really doesn't it..........Raw Hammer wrote:If players take 4-5 years to start hitting their straps, such as Beams, Steele, Jack, Wood, etc. the likes of Leon, Swan, Didak, Josh, Maxwell, et al will be in their 30s. You have to make a stand to push for a flag sooner or later. The finals showed us that our forward line is a shammozzle. 2 prelims in 3 years...we're nearly there. Why not give the opposition someone to worry about for once. I guarantee our opposition hardly shake in their boots when they face us.

I voted No. What spoljar said.spoljar wrote:No
We are not, I repeat, not a realistic Premiership chance over the next 2 years. Get your hands off it and remember how far off we were from Geelong and St Kilda this year. Fevola will not make all the difference in bridging that gap.
All he will do is stifle the development of Chris Dawes, the player we need to stand up from 2012 onwards.

The next generation of young guns are off limit as they're the fabric of the whole enterprise going forward, including players such as Goldy, Dicky, Wellers, Caff, Brown, Dawes and Reid.
I'm also not keen on using pick 14 given Hine can secure another Sidebottom or Beams with such a pick. Yes, we took Wood with pick 14, but he was a kid and we obviously had to invest in a ruckman long-term. Our need for a 29-year-old full forward is far less obvious than that.
I hate to say it, but that leaves players like Trav, Medhurst and Josh to be looked at. Of these, Josh is unlikely because we lose all of our gains with Wood if we discard our only other viable ruckman. It is questionable whether another side will see the value in the others given their weaknesses. Beyond that we would have to look at say Leon, but again you would wonder if we would get value for him.
If we can manufacture a deal somehow all well and good, but not at the expense of the fabric of the team. We have worked too hard to assemble top youngsters to trade them away before their real value is realised.
