Nope.
A smart boss would say to my demands “go fk yourself, there are plenty of you out there at a reasonable price!”
Grundy has zero fault.
But I don’t like his contract and I don’t care if he leaves.

Grundy like all senior players will have a medical assessment before exit meetings occur
Apparently this is a new thing at the club

Strange that only Ginni, IQ and Grundy were at the club for medical assessments today. Get Dr Hans, stat.

If he’s gone, they’ll need to find another ruckman. Lloyd Meek preferably

So you’ve never bagged a player I take it given you have zero expectations on them to be expected to perform? It’s not their fault they play shit…

I bag players absolutely.
It’s the players fault they play shit (most of the time, anyway)…. Its not the players fault the club is stupid enough to pay them a mint knowing the risks that come with it… be It injury, form or whatever else can go wrong.
We’ve both been on this site for just on 20 years…. We hardly ever agree, so no point starting now

Let it go Eddie, Grundy wasn't the only player who struggled to cope with the Covid lockdowns and bubbles. Living in that QLD bubble having to live and breathe work 24/7 would have sucked.
We offered the contract, he accepted. Fault if there is any is with us.

So it is Grundys fault he has played shit for three years but he shouldn’t be bagged because it’s not his fault? Make up your mind…

It's clearly our club's fault for the ridiculous $7 million contract given to Grundy. For that reason, I can understand Wright trying to relieve some salary cap space by trading Grundy. However, if we end up paying $300,000 of his salary each year, plus we pay $650,000 for McStay, then we will have managed to save only around $50,000 pa. It seems madness to me to effectively lose an A grade ruckman for a C grade KPP, unless there's more to the story we don't know. I fear we are headed for a lose lose outcome.

It’s grundys fault he played shit. It’s not his fault the club paid him $1M a year to do so. That blame sits solely with the club. They should never have paid him $1M a year.

Obviously we’ll never agree, but I maintain a player who demands excessive salary should be expected to perform to the level they feel they are worth being paid at.
You can’t blame the bubble for 2021 and first 6 rounds of 2022. Fact is has been found out, teams worked out they can let him get the hitouts because it goes nowhere and he’s no longer mobile enough to be effective around the ground, this will only get worse and we’ve got 5 years left of him. If he goes it will be the greatest thing Graeme Wright has done since 1990.

Unfortunately, that's not what you're doing, though. Everyone looking on with an ounce of world experience knows you're reacting to Grundy for reasons of your own psychology. At a guess I'd say it's disappointment or bitterness, which are common enough and things many of us struggle with, but obsessing over others is no substitute for getting a grip of yourself.
Grundy is a high performer and was so long before the money and contract bidding process came along. That intrinsic motivation is what led him to be drafted and to excel to begin with, so the question as to what is hampering him lies well beyond thinly disguised personal reactions.

its been suggested that whilst its averages $1m / year over 7 years, that some of the upcoming years might be as high at $1.2m, if that the case even if we are paying $250-$300k we still get mcstay at $550ish, $250k to melbourne and we get a $400k player in

Brodie Grundy has played his last game for Collingwood, according to the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph, after a crucial meeting which saw the club declare his salary needs to be off-loaded.
“Let me tell you what’s happening - I can’t explain why it’s happening,” Ralph said on On the Couch.
“So at Collingwood Brodie Grundy has played his last game at the club, barring an extraordinary backflip. This has all been driven by Collingwood, not Grundy.
“My understanding is the football boss Graham Wright met with Grundy’s management and said we need his cap space off the boks. It enabled him to look around, he chose Melbourne over Port Adelaide and Geelong.
“He only wants to go to Melbourne, he will go to Melbourne. The Pies have a little bit of interest in Sam Hayes, who is the Port Adelaide tap ruckman.
