Wasn't that flash from the 3rd level either.burnsy17 wrote:^^
Yep... Some very choice words directed at him from the legends members on level 2 off the ponny on sat...
I've said it 50 times already... Bucks was right, his brand is shot... Each day, more and more Collingwood football club members and supporters are turning on him.
And.... Rightly so. Club first. Players are replaceable... The club is not.
But I agree. His brand is shot. Players come & go, Tuddy, Thommo, McKenna, Moore, Picken, McGuane, all went to other clubs. The Club will live on & we'll keep going to watch.
What I cant understand is, how can these other clubs actually think he is worth the kind of money they are offering?
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.
No, it hasn't.makri wrote:What ever good work he may have done over those 150 game has been thrown away over the last month. Muppet seems pretty appropriate. Debate is fine but the recent tendency to assume he's "going" and then abuse him for it, without knowing, is rather disappointing.
All that we actually know is that he's played a few poor games. So have a lot of other Collingwood players recently. Some of you seem to be projecting that his poor form must be because he's leaving but I don't think anyone on Nick's knows that (or, if they do, they're being awfully coy about it). If he does re-sign with Collingwood, I hope those of you who have turned so quickly have the decency to go and support a team more suitable to your barracking habits, like, say, the 'Aints.
I don't like the present position, any more than I liked it when Pendlebury, Thomas and Swan were the subjects of speculation. But I do remember that Cloke already turned down one huge offer (from Essendon) in trade week straight after the 2010 GF win. I am very cross that the position hasn't been sorted out, one way or the other. But I'm not going to blame the player for that. And I'm certainly not going to abuse him. And it troubles me that others think it is OK to do so.

It will take him another 150 games to earn that respect back, problem is I don't see him being a 300 game player.

It's not the poor from though, respectfully, it's the attitude of him and Damir that's causing the issue...Pies4shaw wrote:No, it hasn't.makri wrote:What ever good work he may have done over those 150 game has been thrown away over the last month. Not sure any of the aforementioned aired their contract woes on the Footy Show or had "quite" such a father...
We just got nutted at the clearances...

No it won't, fickle supporters such as you jump back on (and off) on a weekly basis. After Cloke signs you will simply go after another player that doesn't fit your view of the world.makri wrote:It will take him another 150 games to earn that respect back.
Luckily for Collingwood and our players, your views are meaningless

Nah, I'm tipping I will still be going after Cloke if he signs. He still wont fit in my view of the world.

Some of the crap that has been written here is just incredible.....
were it from people who had a half a brain.
Cloke is a premiership hero of the Collingwood Football Club. I certainly am not happy with his form of late as many here are and no doubt everyone at the Club. I wish he would settle his contract ASAP to get it out of the way but you would think he was guilty of single handedly tearing the Club apart. Get a bloody grip. He is one player out of 22 that take the field each week. It is possible that if he gets this contract out of the way that he might focus more on his play, but possibly not.
I might forgive a lot of you because you are talking like children and maybe that's all you are. Some advice.. Grow Up.

No doubt he will come out, win a big game and then re-sign and all these little sheep will go crawling back into their hole denying they ever turned on himNash Rising wrote:No it won't, fickle supporters such as you jump back on (and off) on a weekly basis. I don't really understand why he has lost your "respect". He shouldn't have gone on the Footy Show and I didn't like that - but that presumably was done on advice from those who look after his contract negotiations.makri wrote:It will take him another 150 games to earn that respect back, problem is I don't see him being a 300 game player.
As for the football, in 2010 he kicked 38 goals, 40 behinds in 24 games. So far this season, he's already kicked 35 goals, 20 behinds in only 16 games. Unless the wheels fall off permanently, he's plainly going to kick more goals than he did in the premiership year. Realistically, he'll probably end up with 45 or 50 goals for the year, if he plays all the remaining games. That's not a great haul when compared with his 69 goals in 2011 but it isn't a bad one, all things considered. After all, he won the Copeland kicking 40 goals in 2008.

True, but are those figures worth 750K for 5 years? Are they worth more than Swan, Pendles & Beams. The correct answer to both questions is no.Pies4shaw wrote:I don't really understand why he has lost your "respect". Grew up on beef and sheep farm. Lived most my life in regional Vic. But never ever seen sheep live in a hole or return to one.eddiesmith wrote:No doubt he will come out, win a big game and then re-sign and all these little sheep will go crawling back into their hole denying they ever turned on himNash Rising wrote:No it won't, fickle supporters such as you jump back on (and off) on a weekly basis. Must be NZ ones?
Petrie wouldn't have to. North have about 3 players worth a contract on their entire list. And he isn't going to be offered a million dollars by anyone, is he?obleex wrote:All I know is there is no way Petrie would hold his club to ransom the way trav is at the minute. And please, I am fully aware of Petrie's age and know full well we won't ever sign him. Settle down
Anyway, do you actually know whether Petrie is presently being paid more than Cloke? I think you might be quite surprised.
Finally, I sense a slight irony in you calling Collingwood's premiership CHF a "muppet" and then asking me to "settle down" when all I did in response to your post was offer my take on your desire for Petrie based upon some statistical material.
