You can't possibly know that unless you have been or are likely to be involved in his contract negotiations.
Just guessing about something and then telling everyone it is factual is a little demeaning to the discussion

Gees, cannot believe we just wanna get rid of cloke so easily people! It is just as much responsibility upon the club as it is cloke, and we may push our 'new window' back another year without him.

I'm right with you, PnC. With all those fit, firing alternative CHFs to choose from, the 'Pies are in a really strong bargaining position. I say they give Travis an ultimatum. Personally, though, I think they should give it to him on the eve of the first final - 'cause that will help the team to focus.

Petrie wouldn't have to. North have about 3 players worth a contract on their entire list. And he isn't going to be offered a million dollars by anyone, is he?
Anyway, do you actually know whether Petrie is presently being paid more than Cloke? I think you might be quite surprised.
Finally, I sense a slight irony in you calling Collingwood's premiership CHF a "muppet" and then asking me to "settle down" when all I did in response to your post was offer my take on your desire for Petrie based upon some statistical material.
Mate he is not a muppet he is an arrogant
<snip>. He will never get the fans he has lost back on side. I can't stand greedy disloyal f$@ks. He can take his old man and f&@k off. The disease spreading germ that he is.

Hmmm. sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. ! Actually, offering him $700K+ per year, SHOULD have us in a very strong bargaining position. On Clokes recent and prolonged, very poor output, his price is dropping steadily, and id say suitors like the Dockers are having big second thoughts about offering a million a year to a guy who returns around 1-2 goals a game, if that. ! These clubs are not fools, Cloke is no longer king of the contested marks, and they would note his huge falling off in form, they arent idiots. I would say he and his old man would do very well to accept our MORE than generous offer, right now, and put this whole sorry saga to bed, once and for all.
