We would still get pick 10 though. It's not a bad pick. As much as I wouldn't like to use Pick 7, there isn't much difference between pick 7 and 10 in this years draft.

How much has Smith been offered from us?

3 picks later is 3 picks later. We can get Smith for free. No.

Hello we are getting pick 10 also!
Wasn't Smith an AA last year.
The guy has got some class, elegance, and confidence when coming from defence.
If we can also get moloney it would be a great deal with the chance of morrison in PSD.

He was AA not long ago, not sure what year.

Cam, after Pick 6, it's hard to pick the next player. Between Pick 7-20 maybe more, it is very, very even.

Peter, no one could know that, because they don't release those details.

10 news said we have offered Smith a 3 year deal

That's the same that the Hawks offered him I think. It's the money that is going to be the difference.

could anyone else afford him in the PSD? We could hold out to see if Geelong will work with us, then use pick 7. Smith, Maloney and Morrison in the PSD would be better than pick 7 and Morrison, IMO, but obviously not as good as Bartell and Morrison :)

I agree with Cam.

Providing Richmond don't deal to get Simmonds, Smith will essentially be ours in the PSD.

Give em nothing.

No he wont!

Hawthorn are allowed to re-draft him in the PSD if they wish.

If he goes to the PSD there are no guarantees

Exactly. We don't know that we will get him in the PSD. We could, but we might not.

They can't re-draft him if they can't afford him.

Exactly. The only club before us that can afford him (on what we've offered) is probably the Tiges, and they should be taking Simmonds in the PSD.

The only reason I don't think Smith will enter the PSD is because he has no reason to slap Hawthorn in the face like that. If he wants to come to us he will want it done by trade, otherwise he'll stay.... Unless he is REALLY money hungry.

But how do you know that they cant afford him Cam?

They didnt offer him as much as we did, but it doesnt mean they cant afford him.

Your only assuming that.

Besides there are other clubs that Hawthorn.

Richmond have heaps of room in their cap due to the departure of Ottens

Anyone got any update on the trade rumour? I've been spammed from people saying it's a done deal.
