*Highly doubt Nick will be right to go against Sydney with Tyson his natural replacement. After being in and out of the team last season Goldsack was one of the better performed players during finals. Injuries and illness have hampered his year but after a couple of good displays in the VFL should be right to go. One could argue as a pure defensive player he's a better option than the captain.
Out:Fraser(omit)
In:Dawes
*Josh was poor in the Queens birthday clash and average at best in his previous two outings. Whether it be a result of age, inury or just a slump in form he's not performing at a level that warrants a place in the 22 at this stage. Dawes has his critics and areas of his game that still need improvement but he's a player on the rise who's shown enough in his 6 games this season to believe he's worth persisting with. Should be played deeper in the f50 for longer periods and given space to lead like any full forward.
Out:Medhurst(rest)
In:Didak
*If Medhurst is not close to 100% fit then he needs to once again be placed on the sidelines. We can't afford to carry him for another season in the hope he'll come good. He won't. Need him at his best come September, over the last 2 weeks he hasn't been anywhere near that level.
Out:Barham(omit)
In:Ball
*I feel a little sorry for Barham as he was thrown to the wolves somewhat in this game, being asked to fulfil a role not familiar to him against a quick, highly skilled and experienced opponent. What a surpise he failed.
If Ball doesn't come up for the clash against Sydney I'd consider elevating Blair.
Out:Macaffer(omit)
In:Johnson
*Ben Johnson had a very good 9 weeks before a dip in form in his previous 2 games but he still has a couple of credits left in the bank. I believe Macaffer still has a lot to offer the side and will be back before the season is out but after playing 12 games straight at AFL level might benefit in going back to VFL for a few weeks in the hope he can rack up some big numbers.
Players under the microscope:L.Brown, Lockyer, Davis, Shaw
Players in line for senior selection:Buckley, Rounds, *Blair
*Rookie who'd need to be elevated.
I'll be giving psychic readings after 6pm tonight. :D
Bloody hell The match committee reads Nicks. Well done Swoop.
Given everyone wants this weeks lotto numbers can I have next week please?

So are you saying that our captain does not belong in the best 22?
I think it's our best side for the year as well. This is the ruck combination that will take us into September. Jolly can ruck pretty much on his own with occasional support from the anvil. Glad to see Goldy back, and I think the club has shown some mettle in dropping Medhurst. Whether form or injuries, he has not been contributing enough in games. There's a lesson for Leon here as well.

Yes 6 changes is a lot, but I believe those changes make us a lot stronger team. I would like Maxwell in but it's important he gets the calf right and does not rush it.
Send Goldy to Goodes
Can match him in the air and with foot speed.
Heater to O'Keefe & Presti to Bradshaw.
Bolton is out injured so it is imperative we get Roberts Thompsons opponent one out with him. If Cloke or Dawes has Grundy then drag him outside the forward 50.

No.
So are you saying, no: Maxwell does not belong in our best side, or no: you weren't saying that?
A good side. Not our best for the year, either for selection or fitness/form, but should be good enough to account for the Swans. Hopefully Goldsack can show some form, has had little footy this year, same goes for Dick.
Barham doesnt get to play a open style game that suits him best, (wing, swingman) Malthouse needs to confer with Gavin why & where he plays best & not think he knows everything.
Would love to see some more young guys get a chance, Malthouse is showing his hand to early
With Goldsack, Ball, Dick, Sidebottom, Johnson and Thomas playing together for the first time this year, lets hope the commentators refrain from the usual potty humour...
