About as important as a pre-season premiership. i.e. Not at all.

Actually there is no such thing as a "Minor Premiership" in AFL and no award for finishing top of the ladder either. It's just more media BS really.

I'm greedy, I want all the trophies, starting with the McLelland trophy for the minor premiership.

Plus it will probably mean avoiding Stkilda and Geelong in week one of the finals, and playing a less physical side like Freo or the Dogs.

If we win tomorrow, then beat Adelaide and Essendon, we could not lose first place.

My girlfriend is a major Melbourne Storm fan and for some reason the minor premiership means something in the NRL. It's a 'nice-to-have' only. I'd rater finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. and win the flag that finish top and not. Finishing on top is as important as being 'flag favourite'. In the end, it means nothing if you don't win the big one.
