Senator Cory Bernardi.

Is this guy for real? People actually voted for this idiot?

^ More concerningly, people thought this idiot would make a worthy member of the front bench. And by 'people' I mean our soon-to-be prime minister.

Following the election of Tony Abbott at the leader of the federal Liberal Party in late 2009, Senator Bernardi was appointed Shadow Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure and Population Policy. In August 2012 Senator Bernardi was appointed as the Deputy Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate.

Good Morning David. May I ask what problem/s you have with Mr Bernadi?

Well, his infamous 'slippery slope' argument regarding same-sex marriage was rightly castigated, but I found his earlier calls to ban burqas pretty odious too. Whatever your views on that topic, there's no doubt that Bernardi was exploiting it for political purposes; i.e. using it as a means of appealing to anti-Muslim sentiment. On that note, he's also a fan of Geert "deport all Muslims" Wilders and has been one of the leading proponents of the "stop the boats" nonsense. As far as I can tell, he's a right-wing mega-reactionary who would fit nicely within the US Republican Party.

Full length mirrors should be mandatory in the building code and tights and bikinis should NOT be made in size 20+.
