Nothing racist about our recruiting. Unless i'm mistaken, the three lads above were taken with early draft picks, were they not? If not, who did we select before them instead?
All the speedy aboriginals are gaaaawnskis in the draft by the time our dud picks come around...
Yes, we need one. Does Elijah Edwards potentially have their foot speed?
Failing that, poach Garlett from Carlton when he becomes a free agent.
Doesn't seem to one of MM's pets.

Dyso
Not all were taken that early. Brad Hill was taken in the 30s. We could have picked him up if we'd not traded our pick for Elliott and Clarke. Happy with Elliott, though would love to have both ;).
Well done boys!

The guys tried but were outclassed by a side who has basically been playing together for 5 yrs. Yes they had Mitchell and Gibson out but basically the rest are in or very close to the best 22.
In comparison we have 11 injured players + 1 suspended and of those you would think 6 or 7 are in our best 22.
Losing Langdon didn't help our cause at all. We just can't seem to get a trick with the injury gods.
Week in week out we have a make sift backline with it changing each week.
Same as our 22 always seems we are making 2 or 3 changes each week we can't seem to get any consistency in our 22 for players to get used to each other.
With Swanny below his best most of the season and Blair being a waste of oxygen recently and White appearing to be non interested at times it leaves some massive holes in our team.
When you have 6 or 7 of your best 22 out you can't afford to have anyone not playing well or being a passenger.
Today we probably had 4 or 5 guys who played well below what could be expected.
The umpires will never give us a fair go so get used to it. Been happening for years and won't change.
A few of our players may be close to the end of there careers or simply not up to AFL standard.
Ball has been a great servant but his days are now numbered. Can't fault his heart but his lost that yard of pace (and for a guy who doesn't have a heap of it losing 1 yard hurts) he looks a step behind now.
Young players are being thrown to the wolves each week out of necessity at the moment and have done all year. Time will tell if this is a great learning curve or to much pressure early in there careers. I'm confident it's a great investment on our future.
So we move forward again to next week and hope the injury gods start to smile on us soon.
I don't want to make a harsh comment about the coach but this is really his 1st year coaching a team his way with his players.
Thus far we have seen a change in game styles but our consistency has been very ordinary including when we were winning.
I think Bucks needs some really inspiration soon if we keep having to chop and change players weekly.
The draw this year like the past several years doesn't do us any favours but when you are consistently in the 8 you get a harder draw and unfortunately for us it's coming at a time we are trying to implement a new game plan and several young players with under 20 games (a recipe for disaster)

Wasn't expecting to win today, but I thought the effort was much better than last week.

I reckon if we had of played like that last week, we would have won. If we play that way next week, we'll belt the scum.

Really thought we were a chance to go ahead in the third, until that disgusting throwing decision against Pendles. 2 goal turnaround, and we never really recovered.

Cloke was great again today. What's up with his kicking? He's nailing them from everywhere.

Pendles was our best by a street. Swan was better today, but still nowhere near his best. Also thought Adams was OK today. Beams seemed a bit off, not sure if he's carrying something.

Looks like Bally is coming to the end. he's been a warrior for us, but I think the end is near.

As for Blair, surely it's time to go. How can Martin be any less effective?

Though Frost did pretty well on Roughy. Kept a damn good player to 3 goals, and one of them was a Joe The Goose (whatever the hell that is!).

Hopefully, Maxy & Goldy will be back next week, along with Sidey. We will pump the Scum.

Go Pies!!!
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.

"Racist recruiting'? Are you seriously suggesting we do not actively recruit certain players because of their colour? Are you serious? Please explain! Examples of this racism please?

Just watched the reply again. Umpires cost us dearly. We were robbed and cheated. They are filth. Why don't we lodge an appeal in the Courts and see if we can get the result over turned and awarded the four points. These umpires must be either dumb or wanted us to lose. We played ok in the first half then the umpires came out and wrecked us. This is happening every week. I will boycott games unless umpires are privatised.

Might just be your paranoia / persecution complex again Col. I have made a few posts tonight, but doubt I'd be in the top 3 on the board. Do the numbers for me if you like, it'd be interesting to know .

On reflection, some of the dodgy umpiring calls did cost us dearly, like the incorrect decision to penalise Pendlebury for throwing in the third quarter. We were streaming down the ground with loose players everywhere, but instead the ball goes up the other end and Hawthorn kicks an undeserved goal.It was a classic 12 point turnaround and a real momentum killer for us.Not saying it cost us the game, but it did hurt us badly at the time.

bally12 wrote:This wasn't a few dodgy calls. It was biased umpiring in the extreme. Cheating. Breath-taking really.

Yes I realise everyone hates us. I get that the commentators don't like us and turn a blind eye to the blatant cheating, and offer no comment on what the vision clearly shows. Not once did they question even the most ridiculous calls or non-calls, or the inconsistency in the holding-the-ball decisions which surprise surprise none were in our favour.

Now I hear the AFL are trying to re-write history so they can give some more cups to Carlton and Essendon. I wouldn't even be surprised if they try to take some of ours back.

After Eddie has turned our business around and we are more profitable that everyone else, they bring in "equalisation" rules. To stop a possible back-to-back premiership they bring in an emergency interchange rule change.

But of course when Essendon is caught systematically doping their players in an off-site lab, the AFL CEO (who happens to be an Essendon supporter....another "surprise") decides that he should do a "joint" investigation with the supposedly independant drugs body. The "hirdy vs demetriou" stoush is a croc. It wouldn't surprise me if it was all a stunt to begin with in order to divert attention from the real issue. Needless to say both Demetriou and Hirdy are a disgrace.

Wouldn't you think that the first priority of a governing sports body is to make the fixturing fair and equal? Which other sporting competition uses the results of the previous season in orchestrating a "fair" fixture. Even FIFA can get that right.

It all goes to show how corrupt the AFL are. How they really are against us. F*#k you AFL. F*#k you umpires. A Collingwood premiership is worth 3 of anyone else's anyway. Our side is building. We will remain side by side.
This is the cathartic read that I needed to get over my grumpiness post 5pm today. Thanks
Buzz
Looking for sweet 16.....
