Didn't we do this after 2017? Hasn't done much good.
No, we did not... Well, it depends what you mean by "this".

We need a professional review before we go sacking or not sacking everyone.

We always have the biggest injury list in the competition (or close to it). And many on this BB still are certain it's just bad luck and not too bad.

Sounds like complete denial to me. They can't stand the thought that our club might not be totally professional in every department.
Agree K. Year after year of injury catastrophes cannot just be dumb luck. Elementary probabilty theory would prove this.

Hopefully we win, but....
We are currently sitting 5th on the ladder with the biggest injury list in the competition. And we are calling for the coach to be sacked.

People really need to get a grip!

THIS !!!!!! :!:
^THIS!!. And I'll add what I wrote in the other (disgraceful) 'sack bucks' topic:
Give him a break. Just who would know how to arrest the slide we're presently in? And whoever it is would also have to contend with the same injury extremes Bucks' has had to endure - the injuries are not going to vanish through a change of coach...

His hands are tied - what can he do? It really is up to the playing group to respond - but perhaps they already are and it's the best they can do with mounting injuries taking a massive toll....How would the present top 4 teams go with so many key players out injured? I'll tell you - they'd be nowhere near as high on the ladder as we presently are. Enough said.

Yes we are cursed, but there comes a time when probability theory says actually no, there is a distinct correlation between Collingwood and injuries, implying an association which therefore needs investigation.
That's it from me.
I'm now going on to lichess to distract myself from my sorrows.

Injuries have been a problem for a number of years, but I don't believe we're cursed, but rather we create our own bad luck.

There's something fundamentally wrong within the club that's causing this problem. Collision based injuries are unavoidable and a part of the game but the issues with soft tissue injuries and managing certain injuries has been troubling.

Is Olympic Park Oval the issue which we started using from 2013 onwards? Is it fitness and conditioning staff? Is it a combination of things?

These questions remain unanswered and the club's inability to identify cause/s of our injury problems is concerning.

It was at the start of 2013, was it? (I was trying to remember.) Hmm....

And before then was entirely Gosch's Paddock?
...

I see the Melb. & Olympic Parks Trust says: "The Number 1 Oval served as Collingwood Football Club's training ground between 2007-12."

We weren't playing totally dominant football early on, but I am inclined to agree that the Stephenson debacle knocked us sideways. Since then, we have not played as a team, we have lost some trust in one another, we have lost confidence in one another, we are not playing for one another.

How could a betting suspension bring this about???? Because I reckon some of the players could well be demoralized and angered by it - really pissed off that they bust their guts only to have their footy goals and ambitions thwarted by the immature actions of one vital player.

I'm not having a go at Stevo here - he's young and wet behind the ears and will hopefully learn the hard way - but it could well have created some division amongst the players..... those who have understood and forgiven and those who haven't. It could even have created division amongst the coaching panel, as to how they reconcile Stevo's actions.

We are not a united club at the moment. Years from now, we may find out the real repercussions of Stephenson's suspension.

This is aside from the injury toll and all that means. Sigh.

Something hasn't felt right within the club since the bye.

People will say our form before the bye wasn't good, but we were still playing a far more impressive brand of football back then than we are now. Pre-bye, we're 9-3 and post-bye we're 2-4 and counting.

I suspect it's a combination of things:
- Stephenson's suspension.
- Buckley's comments after WB game. His comments after that game didn't sit well with me at the time and it may have ruffled feathers more than we expected, but the responses from the team in the following weeks were terrible.
- Beams' personal issues; and
- Injuries have obviously not helped either.

Couldn't believe he was penalised for in the back on a good and fair tackle on Vlastuin in the 3rd quarter.

No wonder why people have become disillusioned with the sport itself.
