No way, keep him away from Grundy!!!stui magpie wrote:Great pick up. Insurance for both Grundy and Cox. If either of them goes down he can fit straight in and play a role.
Also good for our VFL team with 2 big blokes who can alternate Ruck/Forward, same model as the AFL team.
He can take a mark, kick straight and ruck. Get him to latch onto Grundy over preseason and try to do what he does
I was watching the highlights and he was getting hit outs into space and to team mates, don’t want him to learn Grundys secret of getting hit outs straight at your own feet...

Worth a punt as he's at least got a couple of strings to his bow that hopefully continue to develop.
Generally it takes until age 24 for most ruck prospects to fill out physically and start to show their true value so he may yet prove a surprise packet.
Welcome to Collingwood Darcy.

The thing is that Cox is both a key position forward and a second ruck. When he was injured we had to replace both positions and we don't have a player who can perform both tasks. Reid (when fit) is a good forward, he is a very ordinary ruckman. Roughead is a good ruckman, possibly better than Cox, but he is needed at full back. Wills is not a ruckman, Max Lynch is a ruckman but the club do not seem to think that he is ready for the 1sts. Cameron is a good choice for insurance if Cox is injured. Jenkins may also be insurance as a forward for both Cox and Mihocek. Although if you were going to swap him for Scharenberg you would want a pretty high draft pick as well. I would rather trade him for Crocker but I am not sure that Adelaide are that gullible.

And hopefully he led his NEAFL team for clearances and averaged 25 touches a game like Grundy does in the AFL.
Any chance the mids have any responsibility in our inability to to take advantage out of the middle ?
