Winston-Salem
So unlike Salem MA which was famous for the witch trials and a steven king novel, this version in NC has it's claim to fame a very intolerant Cuban immigrant jazz musician.
The anti PC push has been building for a while. It won't make a hell of a lot of difference to the middle ground just means the number of ratbags on each extreme is evening up

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
It's interesting, though, to note how the "end to political correctness" rhetoric is being adopted by the extreme right ratbagerry to justify, well, basically anything.stui magpie wrote:Winston-Salem

For the record, I do not accept that there is any serious left in the US that poses any threat to anybody, ever, at all. That's because the so-called "left" in the US is the Democrats, which is just, by and large, a slightly less distasteful form of Thatcherism. There isn't any serious left at all, there. The guys on the extreme right, however, are very dangerous.
Let's be clear about this - the people who are protesting against Trump are not the "left" - they are just, for the most part, annoyed middle-class folk who would, in the 1960s, have voted for JFK, sung Weavers songs and been a little concerned when Bob plugged in for Highway 61 Revisited. They are very unhappy about the turn of events in their country and they'd like it to have an actual, rather than merely putative, President but none of them is about to man the barricades to fight (or probably even to sing songs from Les Mis).
There is no "extreme" opposition to Trump - there are just a few people who think that they didn't learn to read and write and how to mark their vote cards to get served up this tripe.

I'd disagree with that assessment.
no doubt there's a bunch of middle class democrats peeved that they didn't get what the media promised them, but there is also a "left". The SJW's started there and it starts with the younger university educated demographic along with the professional protesters, same as here.
They may not be genuinely socially left, just compared to middle ground USA they are an extreme.
unfortunately what we would consider the far right extreme in the USA aren't actually that extreme over there. I guess, like anything, where the extremes are depends on your centre.
