If we went to David Cloke tomorrow with a $1m per year offer for 5 years, the Clokes would tell the club they now want $1.2m.

The Clokes had initially agreed to a 4 year deal but then wanted an extra year. The Pies gave them 5 years 'two' weeks ago and now they are still refusing to deal.

Let's face facts....Travis loves the Collingwood Football Club as much as Kade Simpson's mum loves Sharrod Wellingham.

Bucks needs to approach the leadership group to discuss whether they should allow Cloke to playout the remainder of the season. The decision should rest with his teammates, as he has clearly made a decision to leave. If they don't want him, they then need to escort him out of the Westpac Centre never to be seen again.
gosh you are informed...my info was out of the football department, where was yours? We seem to have conflict information...do you also work at the club?
So why are the Clokes pulling the pin?
how the hell would I know, ask them!!!!! I only get the club side or rather an individual who works thees version. I doubt even the Clokes know what they are thinking!

So where is your source?

IF you operate a business and one person is causing a problem and frustration and effecting moral BYE BYE .

Show some guts Collingwood and do what you say / that the club is bigger than the individual //BYE BYE TRAV gp where ever you want but not here .

Cloke did the wrong thing going on the Footy Show against the coaches wishes and spoke about discussions that should have been confidential .
If he worked for me i would have chastised him then .

NOW is the best time to show the brand of CFC is bigger than the individual

Funny last year we also had a disloyal person who found a need to air his dirty linen on the Footy Show and it was disgraceful when he asked for loyalty from his players // shame on you Mick Malthouse
No, it is not normal to draw such a line in the sand when his contract does not end until October.

Actually iy would be considered unlawful and totally unreasonable and the employer would be held accountable at forcing him to sign.

He's clearly doing what's best for him, maybe it's time we did what's best for us and get some games into our young KPFs, always a drama with this clown, i actually want him to go now, as in right now, it's affecting the team.
And we would be well within our rights to do that, but we have to realise this is the modern age and Cloke is not breaking any rules and we need to manage this.

What happens if 6 players next year are in the same position? Do we call them all traitors and drop them?

Like it or not, our club management is paid a huge amount of dosh to control this very situation. Cloke is the one who has to maximise his returns in the very finite time he gets on the field. Most players get cut after giving their all for the club.

What the hell is wrong with him asking for more and waiting a little?

If he isn't performing, drop him! I agree Defender. But, if we go down the passion / vendetta / its him against us highway, our club is a shamozzle who cannot manage its core business. That's the truth.

What a pisser...a few weeks back you were bloating to everyone on Nicks how your sources had informed you that Cloke had signed and then you go and post this tripe, you fraud.

Shove your sources up your ass.
Hey Banksy, you need to get your facts right.
It wasn't his/her sources informing him/her, Cloke called him/her directly to tell them.

C'Mon David, you need to work harder than that to derail a thread like this.

LIFT boy, LIFT. Let me see what you've got, I know you have the ability, it's just whether you have the passion and work ethic.

Lets see some serious effort. NOW :!: :!: :!: :!:

Free agency explained (the Cloke way)

A player has served eight or more seasons of AFL football at one club, is one of the 10 highest-paid players at his club, and is now out of contract for the first time since reaching eight seasons of service. (twirl moustache)

The player is eligible to field offers from all rival AFL clubs. (twirl mo again, part idiot son's hair to one side)

If he wishes to change clubs, the player must decide on the best offer of his choice from one rival club. (Father & son wet themselves)

His club has the right to match the presented offer. (Father & son giggle in anticipation)

If the club matches the offer, he may choose to remain with his original club, seek a trade or enter the Draft. (Father & son shrug shoulders "oh well, seems like they don't really want us")

If the club does not or can not match the offer, the player can move to the new club of his choice. (Travis reluctantly announces departure, father & son seen skipping out of Westpac centre)

His original club will receive a compensation pick for the loss of the player, on an AFL-determined formula to apply where clubs lose more free agents than they gain in any single transfer period. (AFL waiting in the shadows jump out to lay the boots in)

You have to try to work the death penalty & Occupy Melbourne into the discussion. Those two subjects usually get his "juices" flowing.
