Gotta love Jordy. Being interviewed as part of a Moto cross thing, he was asked if Ginni needed to grow up.
Jordy replied, he's what, 21? What were you like when you were 21? Best place for him is at the Pies.

For what it's worth, I think he actually contributed a lot in the respective last quarters of those two finals (against Melbourne, in particular, his impact was significant if I recall correctly). It's not all about goalkicking for him, and that wasn't necessarily his role when he was brought back into the team.
But the Q4 sub does have a
huge advantage over every other player on the field (except the oppo sub). That exaggerates the sub's form.

McFly on SEN, Wednesday after GF:
"What does a winner look like? I don't know if a winner goes to the races the night before, I'm not sure.
We're all different, and I want to say if that makes you the best player you an be, go to the races. I don't want to be an old-school coach around that."
[Sheesh... The club needs to get its messaging clear. It's already clear Ginnivan can't read the room. Don't wanna make it worse with mixed messaging.]

Look I don't have any moral position on going to the races or not but showing up in a jockey's silks for mad Monday is a clear finger to any who dare criticize him.
I'm all for backbone and standing up for yourself but that jockey stunt was the action of a natural born smart rrrrs - and I don't mean that in a good sense.
Time to grow up Ginni, you want to be an AFL footballer?
It's all there right in front of you but you have to earn it.
A genuine professional sportsperson let's their actions do the talking but our lad seems addicted to being a smart rrrrrs.
I'll support him to the hilt as I do every Collingwood player but his actions are not endearing which Fly made quite clear. And for a gentle and caring bloke like Fly to even make a mild public criticism of one of his 44 boys is a telling point in my book.

I don't believe there is evidence that Ginny's sartorial arrangements on Mad Monday were a sign of defiance towards Fly. Another interpretation is that he had a discussion about the issue, understood the Club's position of displeasure, and then decided to mock his own actions, in a mad, exuberant way (as you would, when you have just won a Premiership).
There is no way, I am sure, that we are wanting to move Ginni on. He was scrutinised, and given a severe reality check this year after his farcical pre season. But he got the ultimate award - he was considered up to the standard to be selected for a full GF. He was made to earn it. It would be very wrong to assume that he has resented this disciplinary process. I am sure that Fly does not yet consider Ginni to be the "best version of himself" (to use Fly's own phraseology) and will be determined to give him the opportunity to achieve this in 2024.

Well we all have different takes on it and that's fine.
Look don't get the impression I don't like Ginni or don't want him to succeed I'm just concerned for his development - or lack of it lately.
He's no longer a raw 18 year old kid without a clue what's expected of him. Two years in the system and he should be starting to solidify himself in the main 22 - god knows he has a natural football brain and the sky should be the limit - but that won't just happen by osmosis.
He's not as fit as he should be and he keeps on leaving himself wide open off the field. Those are two concerning traits and I'm hoping that Fly and Jacqui can help him to understand that he now has some serious competition for his spot and if Schultzy makes it into the stripes he's going to have to fight tooth and nail for his spot.

He hasnt been the same since he lost the peroxide hair. Hate to see him go though, dunk his head in the bleach bottle and get him in the midfield in 24.

Collingwood forward (Ginnivan) reportedly won’t be included in trade for Docker: AFL trade news
Conjecture has reigned about the possibility of the Pie departing.

I reckon this was all started by a bunch of shit-stirring Richmond supporters, and because there is no objectivity left in sports reporting, it's snowballed from that point ("Read the room" and wearing silks to Mad Monday notwithstanding).
However my good Richmond-supporting mate (we all have legacy's, right?) despises Ginni, so if he is going anywhere, I do hope its there...

I think people should get off his back. He played about 40 minutes of footy as a sub, in a month, then people expect him to out and dominate in a red hot GF. FFS, give him a break!

Ginnivan's game against Geelong was top shelf. Pivotal. Playing 2 quarters in a month is not the ideal prep for a GF. The kids has xfactor about him but he is a very very good set shot for goal. He will forever rue trying to snap that one in the GF. Great set shot kicks have been few and far between during the last 20 years at our club.
