My best team for 1999

Post by Charlie »

Jeez, I went through our list and came up with our best team for 1999. This year we have a much improved list. Unfortunatelly , I cannot see how we can win more games, but I can see that we will be more competitive, and the players which will make up the depth will at least serve us well in the future.
here is my team :
Full Back Brown Michael Godden
Half Back Crosisca Schauble Licuria
Centre Olarenshaw Buckley Burns
Half Forw. LANE WALKER Watson
Full Forw. Patterson Rocca S Richardson
Ruck Monkhorst Williams Orchard

Bench Tape McDonald Rocca A Raso

The is obvious scope to move players into different positions (ie Sav in the ruck, pebbles full forward)but at the end of the day this I feel represents our senior list.

any comments ?

This looks like a fair team.

I feel that Tape may be a better option than Licuria at this stage being more experienced and he showed a fair bit toward the end of last season.

Also Walker would be the ideal CHF but I don't know if his body could stand the knocks there.

A reasonable effort.
My team is based solely on Collingwood players from 1998 and reads as follows:
Godden Michael Richardson
Tape Schauble McDonald
Brown Burns Crosisca
Crow A. Rocca Patterson
King S. Rocca Watson
Monkhorst Buckley Williams
Raso, Tarrant, Wasley, Gardiner

I noticed you did not have Scott Crow in your line-up. This could not have been a deliberate omission could it?
Also I believe it imperative that our best players, namely Buckley, Williams and Burns play primarily in the middle of the ground, and that Brown is spared from the rigors of the backline, and is given the freedom to play in his favoured position as a wingman.

Absolutely. Rowdy should definately play on the wing. On the odd occassion he played there last year he looked right at home.

Hello Ladies!!!
All things being equal (and from what I read, hear, and assume) The Big Valbowski's best side with 1999 additions would be:

Crow Michael Richardson
Tape Schauble Watson
Brown Burns Crosisca
Olarenshaw A.Rocca Freeborn
King S.Rocca Lane
Monkhorst Buckley Williams
Orchard, Tarrant, Licuria, Gardiner
