Bucks on white line fever

Post by Dr. Rock »

Last night Nathan Buckley paid credit to the cheer squad.A young boy rang up and said 'what is the best part about playing for Collingwood'
In part his answer was the cheer squad. He said the boys hear us and mentioned especially the cheer squad that travelled to Adelaide.
Well done to all those that went to Adelaide!

And for those 'outsiders' that doubt the effectiveness of cheer squads, have a listen to nick davis's comments after the swans game !

Before the game we were all pumped up i mean we were pumped we were ready to run through brick walls...the cheersquad at that stage looked ready to go off

The game kicks off and i notice something that isnt right im standing on me milk crate doin the chants and a chant leader's worst nightmare begins..he notices the atmosphere is not as good its not goin off..i remember sitting down after getting one chant going and i whipsered to mick " shit mate there not bloody chanting" "the buggers are just lookin at me" i said what the shit am i gonna do we're in bloody adelaide we gotta be loud win lose or draw.

I stand again to get another chant goin and im pissed off big time, the spittle is flyin from all directions of my mouth ive just showered the whole 3rd row my arms are waving in a pleading motion the chanting from the sqaud improves but not greatly...then in the 2nd quarter it just happens the squad errupts with every chant offered it went off like a bloody fire cracker..the cheersquad went on to have one of its greatest nights ever geoffy pie was helping and doin a good job...come the last quarter this old bugger was absolutely stuffed..i reckon the whole cheersquad was buggered but we sensed something special was about to happen, we were pumped like never before some squad members were in tears such was the emotion of it all..i have put this game down as the best ever from any interstate cheersquad.

I was stoked when i turned on my mobile phone later that night to read all the sms's from pie supporters back here in melb telling us what a good job was done.
From my heart i thank the cheersquad's effort on sat night it will be something i will never ever forget...and its good running into carlton people when back in melb wishing there very own cheersquad was half as passionate as collingwood's cheersquad.

Thanks once again everyone.
Collingwood today, Collingwood tomorrow,Collingwood forever... we'll always do things the collingwood way... side by side we stick together to uphold the greatest name in football.
