Just found out that one of my best friends is leaving for home (Holland) on the 26th of this month! So i dunno what Im going to be doing, or who Ill be doing to with. Hopefully there will be substancial amounts of alcohol consumed and Ill be with some good mates. Tossed up the idea of going to Geelong! that will be cool, anything is better than Ballarat though!

I shouldn't be in here, but I've got some comments in regards to Sorrento on New Years Eve, if any of you were planning to go there.
These days, Sorrento is basically a non-event because the Police have cracked down, and there is no official event down there anymore. I live nearby, and Sorrento on New Years Eve was getting a little out of hand (inc. a couple of stabbings), so they decided to stop holding an organised New Years Eve there.
Apparently, there was only about 100 people down there last year, so if you were planning to go there for New Years eve, don't expect any huge party, because there won't be one.
Apart from that, Sorrento and the rest of the lower half (Safety Beach through to Portsea) of the peninsula will be business as usual during summer. Full of tourists (although plenty aren't like this) that don't give a sh*t, treat you like sh*t, and walk around as if they are the sh*t.
